Chromed rubber strips
ROFL  Been chasing up those chromed rubber strips that are on the interior panels in front of the wheel wells without much success. Decided to make a visit to the local graveyard and LO AND BEHOLD, there it was. It's used to pretty up the rear bumper bars on Nissans and Mitsubishi's. Time and patience is required to remove the old two sided tape and replace it with new. BE CAREFUL not to damage the clear plastic coating as it is not chrome as we know it. The rubber is actually covered with a very thin layer of silver foil and sealed with clear plastic. I grabbed as much as I could from 5 cars and only cost me $5.50 Aust. Hope this info is helpful to someone. Rick.

Block Paint
Might be an idea to contact your local Nissan dealer to obtain the paint code number. My local dealer looked up the paint code for my Zed. All he needed was the Engine number and Body number and he gave my the code number for the car's original paint job. Rick.

Whoa!!!
Sat watching a huntsman devouring a black house spider the other day, (the beauty of being retired, time to watch spiders eat each other). Was quite interested to see one of the local friendly butcher birds hover at the wall just long enough to catch the huntsman then land on the railing in front of me, bash it on the rail a few times and eat it. Didn't know butcher birds did that. Good, nice, friendly, spider eating butcher birds. ROFL ROFL Rick.

Hasn't ANYONE ever fitted weathershields to a Zed ?????????? If so, what make and model will fit a Zed?????. American translation;;;;;;;;;;;; Clear plastic thingies that are fitted to the doors, that deflect the wind and rain, allowing the windows to be wound down. your Z, keep it original. Rick.

New Logo Needed
SMG 1404, Please accept my humble apologies, I blush with embarrassment. You are correct. My praise was directed to Silv3r72. I know what you mean about money restrictions, I'm on a pension. Anyway, your Zed's nice too. Rick.

Your user name/handle/call sign
 There are quite a few unusual user names/handles/call signs used by members. I thought it might be interesting for us to share with the rest of us your reasons for choosing your call sign. For example; I use 1 Bravo 6 because I served in 1 Battallion, Bravo Company, 6 Platoon. What's yours???????????????????????????? your Z. Keep it original Rick.

How old are you?
G'Day NISSANMAN March next year I'll be heading off to Reno. I'm hoping to catch a car show while I'm there,(if there's one on), so I'll keep count of how many good lookers there are in Z's. (FEMALE of course). Your Z Rick 1974 Bronze 260 Z Sports Coupe ORIGINAL (as possible).

How old are you?
Hey there Leeroy, I guess we all like driving our Z's. I'd probably be the slowest Z driver on the road. Every time I get behind the wheel that little speed demon raises his ugly head and I'm tempted to push the pedal to the metal. Then I recall some of the terrible things I've seen happen to the human body and old man caution takes control. your Z

Only 240's ?????????????
G'Day there ZORRO, I reckon that as I get older, my right foot gets lighter on the pedal. I was out on the open road the other day, the 260 was purring, hugging the bends, there was very little "bum slip" as she cornered, I glanced at the speedo and damn near POOPED. I was doing 170kph and didn't realise it. I slowed down rather QUICK. Rick.

Only 240's ?????????????
Hey there ALFADOG, I'm not OLD!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd be the youngest 58 year old you could meet. Cheers, Rick.

Chrome Tail Light Border Thingys
G'Day there 76, Over here, quite a few electroplating firms will rechrome diecast and plastic parts. I suggest you check out your local phone directory. Rick.

Only 240's ?????????????
Hey there ZORRO. Of course you're proud of your Z. Each and every one of us is proud of their Z's, (otherwise we'd probably have a LESSER make such as a Mustang------a dime a dozen). However, my point is, why buy a 240 then fit it out with 280 components?? Why not simply buy a 280 and be done with it. My intention is to keep my 260 as original as possible. I'd like to see most Aussie Z owners modify their Z's to hell and gone. Then, as Z's become rarer, a modified Z might leave me for dead at the lights but I'll be laughing all the way to the bank as the value sky rockets on ORIGINALS. Rick.

Weathershields for a Z
Hey there DAZZA, Maybe we should get together and compile a Australian / American dictionary. Looks like we need to edify these septic tanks. All I want to do is stop the breeze from mucking up my hair. (what little there is left of it), when the windows are down. Rick.

How old are you?
Hey there NISSANMAN, you talking about the good looking GIRLS I hope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I'm 58 going on 20. My "She Who Must Be Obeyed" reckons that with the coming of the Z I've entered into my second childhood. HOW WRONG SHE IS. I'm still in my FIRST. Rick.

How old are you?
At 58, I'm in the fifth group. Hopefully someone will be honest enough to click on 6 otherwise I'm gonna feel OLD. 1974 Bronze 260 Z Sports Coupe.

Only 240's ?????????????
Just to throw the cat amongst the pidgeons,-------------------- I've been having a chat with another member in another forum and the subject of originality came up, so I'd like to pose you all a question. Just how far can you go with mods? If you install a 280 engine into a 240, as so many appear to do, how can it still be referred to as a 240????????????? After all, weren't z's named in accordance with their engine capacities?????????????????????????? 1974 Bronze 260 Z Sports Coupe----------ORIGINAL(as possible)

Weathershields for a Z
AAAHHHHHHH, yes Dazza. What a dream that is. To have two Z's. Only two things stop me from having more than one; lack of money and "She Who Must Be Obeyed". Still, a man must have his dreams. I agree about keeping the Z original. How far can you go with mods and still call the car a Z ????????? Put a 280 engine into a 240 should it still be regarded as a 240??. You get my drift?? 1974 Bronze 260 Z Sports Coupe.
