  1. Well, these will be too glossy and not as flexible in my opinion. Silicone will collapse when you actually install it into the pipe. I have tried all kinds of options with different material. but it is alway better to reproduce new one than covered hoses or old NOS ones. In next few weeks, I am getting my sample ones for 240z done soon from Japan. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34723&highlight=braided+hose I will have 100 of upper and 100 of Lower, braided hoses)made in Japan) And cost will be about $65+65=$130 a set. Mold is very very expensive here, but I always prefer products made in Japan. Esprist
  2. Well, not necessary............... I have had series 1 with blue box as well. Since 240Z cars were mega hit and alway behind its production in warly 70's, Nissan ran out of many parts. So blue air cleaner box (JDM spec ones were in blue) were used. Esprist
  3. Those made in new zland lenses are, I believe, on back order since last Oct, or so.......By the way, the color of these ones are way better like original one. I will put this on "for sale" section later. Esprist
  4. I would not say which specific venders here, but there seems to be cost VS Profit issues. If you mark it up from $875, it will be something like $950? And if you keep 20 sets in stock, that is $18000 on the shelf. Besides, the company who made them are not planning to make them for a while after this lot. They has so much difficulity putting together all these pieces to make a set. (There were too many unusable part in the production process,(not all of them turned out as good as what you see now) so I heard. I wish big vender will order 100 sets or so, we can buy them for $350 a set or so. Esprist
  5. They are here. Incredibly close to original one. Only difference would be the harnes(JDM ones), Koito name, and color of silicone.......I just figired the cost including tax, wire fee, import tax and all. $875 a set. If anyone is interested, please PM. I could only buy 5 sets beside my keeper set. Esprist
  6. Carb cleaner can be used, but it could damage the paint in engine bay and makes burn-marks on hot engine components everywhere. Easy and better way is to use small propane gas from Home depot. *under $20) It it comes with torch nozzle, that is the one. Carb cleaner has to evaporate while spraying requid. Esprist

Has anyone had dealings with Reddat, I have heard good and what sounds to be bad comments on occasion. thax Dan He buys aftermarket MSA Series1 center console for a double price not specifying "aftermarket" product. Also when I bought "Genuine NOS" inner shift boots for my over sea customer from him, it took him 3 weeks. It turned out that he ordered through Black Dragon (aftermarket) and took off the lables off the bags. Same thing happend to me when I bought "Genuine NOS" window molding (made by Black Dragon) . Interesting thing about him is that he gave price adjustment(match Black dragon's cost) right away. Always check with MSA. MSA is great! Esprist
  8. Bearings do not cause tranny to pop out of the gears. They make noise and then collapse. What you have is a bad syncro. Esprist
  9. My friends bought engines and heads from him, and I have seen the parts. They looked fine to me, and I think he is using a good machine shop. Please remember that MOST TECHS DO NOT DO MACHINE JOBS. I am qualify to do all machining, but I send all my stuff to a machine shop. Mechining tools are too expensive! Engine building is 95% depending on the job of a machine shop. Just so you know. Esprist
  10. It was an option for AC installed car. Factory metal one was even on the factory parts book, and it fits just below little fin. I have metal one on mine, but I like MSA aftermarket plastic one better becuase it is lighter and solid piece while factory was welded parts that could rust. Esprist
  11. It is shorted to ground. Check al the wires for burn-marks especially stere area, and re-wrapped wires. Esprist
  12. They are going to shipped from Japan today, I will post some pictures in next 10 days when they arrive. Esprist
  13. This one is on sale at $39.93 http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=96451 Try this, you will be addicted to using this at your kitchen, too! Esprist
  14. Thank you all. I will order very soon, and they shoud be ready in few months...... Esprist
  15. Yes I can. If I can invest $15000 into just for this. Radiator hoses are fairly easier than more complecated shape ones as master brake hose, and heater hoses. More complecated, more cost. Esprist
  16. This company is willing to do it as soon as I pay 5000 deposit. So I think I am going to do it. If I cannot get enough, I might have to sell most of them to Major supplier like MSA........Just a thought...... Esprist
  17. Clear silicon is perfect to seal them. Now when you polish the lenses, please use slow speed otherwise the lense burns easily. If you add more reflector inside(cut-to-fit-mirror for $10?), your tail lights become brighter as well. Esprist
  18. $65 for One. It will be probably $130 a set(upper and lower) Clamps are optional at the cost of about $15 each or so at this point. Esprist
  19. I have seen many N.O.S. original braided hoses on ebay at crazy price. I do not personally believe in using very old rubber. How about group buy? I know a small factory in Japan that have already made few different reproduction braided hoses for Skyline Hakosuka GTR, Z432, and Ken and Mary GTR. These high quality made in Japan hoses take minimum order of 100. So basically 100 for upper and 100 for lower. I can invest money into these if I get enough interests. It will end up in the neiborhood of $65-75 each. I have done hand-made ones before and they are not for parts-to-supply quality. Please look at this Lower hose for S20 Engine(GTR/Z432 Engine) It takes about 3 months to made mold and tested on the car for production. Also I can also get brand new original style hose clamps to go with them as well. Esprist
  20. Very simple. You dip the whole light assembly into hot water. Within few minutes, they will come right off. Esprist
  21. I wonder if any of you guys ever tried this kit before? It's been sold in Japan in last 5 years or so. This electric power steering kit bolts right on. I heard that there is no cutting or welding required. Price is around $600 over there. Esprist
  22. They come in assemled with JDM harnes. Quality of the lenses are better than original with today's technology, and chrome strips look perfect as well. I will try to get pictures soon. I wished US big suppliers buy lots and sell them to everyone at lower cost.... Esprist
  23. They only made 50 or so pairs to cover shops supply, after this lot, it might be all gone. They said that it was very hard and not cost effective to make them in perfect shape. I can only buy 5 sets. If you are interested in, please let me know. I will have them ship shortly. So far all the big US vender will not carry them due to profit margin. Esprist
  24. Plastic one is the original. What you have is not original. Sulfric acid kills metal, and that is why it is made of plastic. MSA has bunch is stock at best rate. There is also a white tube going to drain water to the ground. Esprist
