  1. Of all things anyone racing a 260Z in ITS might find it useful.
  2. Maybe the seller believed everything the salesman told him at the dealership?
  3. You got a steal IMO with some great parts to make it a really sharp street car as well. Do you really want to have a V-8 with gas headed for $4 a gallon?
  4. Heres a bellhousing. http://www.zcar.com/forums/read/12/1915939
  5. I've got to believe at least the bell housings are different.
  6. Was it Scott Bruning? He's the guy in the videos...right?
  7. Go with the SUs from ZTherapy, if you want jump off the line, go R200 (3.7 or 3.9) with an LSD.
  8. Post up some pics ASAP!!
  9. Thanks Stephen, I appreciate it.
  10. I knew the ratios were different but I was told the exterior cases were different as well, that's in large part why I asked. I may just try to get a T-5 rebuilt and swap them, keeping this one as a spare.
  11. How is the '80 5-speed different, or is it, from the 5-speeds in the '78-'79s or the '81-'83s?
  12. Got a source for the synchro rings?
  13. Got an '80 5-speed over a year ago when the 5-speed from a '78 gave up the ghost. I had problems getting it to go in to second and I'm curious if there are any known reliability problems with the 5-speeds out of the 80 model year. I checked he reservoir and it's full. I'm going to check the gear shift to see if it needs to be tightened etc. Last resort short of the transmission is the clutch slave cylinder...I'd really hate to eat another transmission after only about a year.
  14. Where is this guy's shop at in Tokyo, I may be going this Fall?
  15. Here's a thread that starts to answer some of your questions. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29907&highlight=280z As for a forum with step by step instructions that doesn't really exist but you usually will find multiple threads on many types of common repairs by using the search function. As for manuals I'm biased towards the Haynes manual but, depending on what year Z you end up with, the factory service manual may be online or could be gotten off of EBay.
  16. That Fat Mat job looks impressive. I need some sound insulation in my Z as well.
  17. I'm thinking a set might be in order for Xmas. O've got the video and just need o watch it 30-40K times to get the tuning piece down.
  18. If you find yourself un-broke in the near future... http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/car/615214296.html
  19. Looks like a blast, wish I could join you.
  20. This weekend, weather is looking good!
  21. Looking forward to it Warren.
  22. Not worth much unless you have kids and want to share the experience.
  23. If I go the big bore route, I'll be asking John Williams in Atlanta to do the mod. I'm going to ask him if he would grind the needles to get what he wanted from the carbs.
