Questions/Comments on #1905 Parts
Is there anything here in the bay I should check for? I know about the early style clamps and the car does not come with the early style hood bumpers. Also, the car came with 12-69 seat belts: I am planning to sell the front fenders, hood (no supports on edge), and inspection lids. Replace them will the later style parts. If no one buys them, I will source some of the clips for the inspection lids and keep them. One of mine are broken....hmm.

Questions/Comments on #1905 Parts
Great info Carl! I have some NOS panels I am going to use back on the car. I will take a look at the holes. John, did you have to do anything special with the new panels? Funny, this entire time....I was thinking someone just screwed the panel to the door to make it fit. Carl, was this a mistake on Nissans part or just made that way. I am also gathering, looks like later in the build process.....Nissan change the hole patteren on the door itself? I also notice the window roller was in a different spot from where I thought it would be. I thought early Z cars had two on the drivers side near the mirror. My car had one and it was more near the middle of the door. I will check once I get the panel off to see if anything feel into the door.

Questions/Comments on #1905 Parts
Arne & Chris thanks. My 71 did not have those screws in the bottom of the door. So that makes sense that "most" of the 70 built cars had em. The panels do have the translucent plastic grommet that Chris speaks of. Mike, I will make notes here on this thread about "early" parts still used on my 2/70. As you said, it is kinda cool to know where the parts were stopped being used. Next few items I will look at is the speedo, radio (light color), and anything else you guys want me to take pics of. Thanks for all the feedback so far.

Mike my car does not have that ruber mat. Also, was this common on the early cars (factory)....two screws on the bottom of the door panel or common fix for door panels no staying on the door?- Questions/Comments on #1905 Parts
I have finally started to take #1905 apart. Just in the first day, I came across a few parts that I have not seen before and/or read about here on classic. So I guess I can add some kind of timeline or history on our Z cars. A recap, this car is a 2/1970 car all original down to the sparkplugs dated in 69. First item is a shield that is on both seats. I heard there is no part number for this part and I wasn't sure what we really call it? Also these hooks that are on the seats, are there two versions of these? Second item is a "solid chrome Z" on the pillar emblem. Top one is from my #1905 car and the bottom from a 6/70 car I parted a few months ago...both metal. Last item for now, spare tire. There a few other items I will post and comment about later.- What is the hardest to find early Z car part?
Seat shields, definitely. Chris are you talking about a plastic shield at the bottom of the seats out toward the door side? Seat belt hooks I am looking for pics of this. I heard there are two versions of it. I have them both still on my 2/70 car.- 30 Year Collection of Z Parts up for Auction
For 5k, he is better off crushing them all. I hate to hear when people say...I don't need the money but look to get top dollar on their trash. Besides maybe a few good parts....that whole lot is junk. 8 four speeds....people give those away for free. Motors again, another part people give away or sell for $250 if running when pulled. This guy is a dreamer.....I remember him saying we are a cheap bunch of owners.- Christmas Meet At ZMeca 09
Thanks for sharing Carl. Looks like it was a good time and I will make it down next year. I see Rick made it down from up north.- Best Z Barn Find

Last week I went to Florida for a week or so and gave Jim, owner of all the cars below a call to stop by and check out his garage. If you are ever in the Tampa area or within driving distance I would say it is worth the trip. Jim is a stand up guy and knows his Z stuff. Ok....so there wasn't much left of the car. It was a clue int car and I tried removing the trans tunnel and got 3/4 of the way off and ripped it! >=( The car was filled of junk and 1/2 of it wasn't even for a Z. Did get: 2400 valve cover e31 head with intake and exhaust manis (SU carbs mia) head light buckets decent fenders ign lock and orginal keys steering wheel fuel door nob Other small things...metal emblems and stuff. The car was far far far from being saved. Firewall wasn't connected on the passenger side. No floors and car filled with water! None of the rubber strips were in good shape.- Poor #299: Not for the feint of heart!
Hey, I am in contact with the owner of this car again....four small trees has fallen on the car since, busting out the glass and messing up the roof. At this point, may be able to get this one for a trade of a stock glass and a few parts....- My budget S30 Turbo build
Depends on what you ask over there on hybridz........90% of the questions have been answered twice already. What is your real question? You have said anything about what psi you plan to run at.....standard 5 speed will not hold up to the 550hp you are looking for. Search over on hbz and read through other turbo builds and what hp levels they got to. I am in the process of building a L30et motor. More reading than posting, honestly.- 71 Z parts car on Ebay........
