  2. These guys might have it at MyNismo.com http://mynismo.com/ ~Z~
  3. Rubys engine finally comes out this weekend ! '88 Acura daily driver choosen NOW to fall apart though. Already in it for $500 dollors minimum in repair bills to fix, CV Axle boot busted and lost oil, Tail Lights and Dash Lights turn off when Head Lights are switched on now, and I just bought the thing less a month ago  Yeah they call it an Acura Legend, but I now call it The ACURA BUCKET ! piece of junk ~z~
  4. I have a friend who works for the DEA, I'll see if he can help when I catch up with him (Considering last time I saw him he was on a stake out ). But why would the feds make a Public record Private to begin with just because the records were older. You figure current DMV records are still public right? ~Z~
  5. Awesome find Fil ! And what is this thing about Magnessium wheels having a due date ?

Hello Rainman PM recieved, I sent off for the last of all the NOS ones I could get hold of through my cantacts and they should arrive in about a month from now. Supllies is extreamly extreamly small and I'll be keeping some for myself of course . They are the 260Z/280Z size as described above. I'll let ya'll now when they arrive and Falcons are TIGHT . ~Z~
  7. I know I know, I'm sorry, I'm still little low on founds to buy a Camera at least a week or two :disappoin But I did go back and getr more info on it The VIN is correct, build date of 1/70, steel radiator fan blade, all the outside emblems are gone and engine # is 4416 and the fender and so is the VIN. Thats correct, the engine number is 4416, that seems a little high to anybody besides me no? Anyway the color in the engine bay is green so brown may been a repaint and the rocker stripes are actually White and not Black like said before, my mistake :stupid: OK, OK, OK, I'll get those pictures now :bandit: ~Z~
  8. I'm one now too ! In the Natomas area. Hit me up at my phone number anytime, PM SENT to ya ~Z~
  9. You cought me, .... you cought the Tater
  10. Yeah, the car had Washington plates and with 10 year old tags, so I'm thinking it broke down here in Cali or the "travler" just plain left it. YEEAHH ~Z~
  11. HAHA, will do, I have to buy another Camera first cause the other one's busted! But I did notice a couple 2 or 3 Z's had Vin and Build tags missing too. The stangest one I saw was a fairly well off 260Z with no engine bay tag but had a vin number which started of as "RLS30xxxx". Can't remember the build date on it but it was a 2 seater 4 speed left hand drive US spec and believe the door jamb matched the dash vin if I remember. I thought the RLS Vin was for 2+2 models though? And the Z yard closet to me has atleast 13 Z's from S30's to '84 280ZX T-tops, so many I took a pen and paper to inventory 'em Just to moved to Sacromento, CA recently too and found a old gas station/repair shop run by some Japanes guys with 1 240Z, and 2 260Z's with one of those 260's being rather well kept and clean 4 speed with flat tops, both had the big bumbers. The other 260Z has a strange set of rims I never seen before that look like a three bladed fan and panted a Blackish Brown. No makers marks where visible at least from the front. The coolest thing was the 240Z looks to only need paint and had a 5-speed! When I inquired about them I got the old "customer car" rutine, oh well :cheeky: ~Z~
  12. Hello Heloo Jus found my lowest vin Z to date, #1678 ! I know it's not low as the low VIN Z's being dicussed currently but I was surprised to find myself at a wrecking yard the other day going though weeds and bushes then brushing off the window to reveal the VIN. I opened the hood and found the 2400 OHC Valve Cover and dual carb engine. Neglected to get the engine number though in my excitment :stupid: The doors were locked so no idea of the build date but it is a 4 speed far as I know with brown interrior and matching color paint sporting western turbine wheels and Black 240Z rocker panel stripes with 240Z lettering. Overall the body is in pretty good shape for a restoration but the interrior is thrashed pretty badly. Think I'll see what the yard guy wants for him to see if it's something to go on my wish list Overall I was pretty happy and felt like Indiana Jones ~Z~

I would imagine you could powder coat the back half of the pipe but far as the chrome goes I guess you would have to rechrome it. From what I've seen on some pipes rock chips will have their way regardless when it comes to the chrome ~Z~
  14. Correct, but Bart noted it had a $10,000 USD price tag in post #1 meaning $15,500 EUROS. So if the car is as clean as it looks, a steal :rambo: ~Z~

I see you won your bid, Congradulations! Post those pics when you get them mounted
  17. I'm all about this one. Don't know who made it but Montezuma has an original one which I believe he's making Carbon Fiber copies of. I got a reproduction one from Yahoo JP but have'nt shipped it over yet and as noted in earlier post my 280Z bumbers 'ill have to go . ~Z~

Ahh, so your the guy who got that one I was thinking about getting that for my new '88 Acura Legend but did not bid, good buy there. That same seller had two more of those he previously sold. So that makes 5 I've seen with that style and size if you count the 2 I had. You can talk to a cat named Joedro on Ebay, he's selling a pair right now in the same size and style type. You may be able to haggle 1 away from him and split the pair if he's willing. Link -> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrair-Maserati-Lamborghini-Aston -Matrin-2-Ansa-Twin_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42606QQihZ015 QQitemZ250225268808QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW I'll see if I can get them aswell but won't know for sure till at least Thursday, jus so you know I may not be able to find that style yet though. So if you really like that set up that'd be the way to go and you'll own 3 of the 5 NOS ones I know of to date. FYI when polishing the chrome use a non abrasive cloth or T-shirt and don't rub to deep or hard. And stay away from the sticker if polishing fast, or you will bend or dent the edges of the sticker which can not be easily flattend out to shape. And those mufflers are even nicer in person than the pictures look ! ~Z~

Towyards, swap meets and flee markets are great places to find them. Even garage sales were you suspect some car parts are lying around. The two 2nd era versions I had above were found at a swap met being sold as a Mopar item I believe. They were the 2.75 inch inlet types which is why they made good for Mopars. They are now happily fitted to a 240Z and the other on a 510 ~Z~

Hello All (first post in a few days). Awesome, glad to see another member cross over on the ANSA Camp ! Post a few pics for me of the ANSA in question to see which kind it is and I'll help you out . Pics of the front, rear and both sides please. Note any part numbers you find on the wrapping or if any. Also take mesurements of both the inlet and outlet diameters in inches. Some ANSA look exactly alike but have different diameters, like for instance a 240Z ANSA can come in 1.75 inch diameter while the same ANSA but for a 260Z/280Z will come in 2 inch diameter. 40 bucks is a good price for an ANSA, NOS or other wise. They sell on ebay between that and 100 on average just for the resonator tip only. ANSA even made headers along with the complet exhaust line set, not sure if they still make headers though these days. Most reasonator tips are universal and come in at least 2 different diameter sizes rangeing from 1.75 upto 3 inches in my experinece regarding vintage ones. Some of the model specific ones can get expensive when put on the open market like my 2nd to last NOS one I sold last January sized for 260Z/280Z. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=009&ss pagename=STRK%3AMESO%3AIT&viewitem=&item=190193616207&rd=1 Most of the early vintage ANSA's (1st era) are painted Orange inside the outlet pipes. Then after that era came the Gloss Black paint in the outlet pipes (2nd era) but with the same over all outward appearence as the previous 1st era minus the red tape rippon on around the chrome. At least one type of 2nd era ANSA I know of (pictured below) came in both a Black and a Grayish Silver outlet paint color giving 2 color styles. The red rippon was not on all 1st era ANSA's but disappeared during the 2nd. Also keep in mind that the sticker logo remained the same. (comparison pics below are clickable) 1st era ANSA style 2nd era ANSA style If I can't find it I should be able to at least tell you how hard, rare or easy it is to get your particular version and good places to look for one, Dual exhuast 'ill look SiC ! HUGE DISCLAIMER HERE -> ANSA goes back to at least 1959 and my terms for "era" along with start and cut off dates between them are as best I can figure from study of the designs and comparing them to each other based on manufacture dates along with some research ! 1st era - 1960's to at least 1974 when the model specific 260Z ANSA's were released. 2nd era - mid to late 1970's to around 1985 when Slash Cut Tip style was said to be discountinued as a fact. 3rd era - the current one we are in now IMO. ~Z~ ~Z~
  21. My bad I was thinking in terms of lein sell cars. Been test driving some to have a "Towyard Hero" till Ruby's done at the shop. Soon as I made up my mind to buy a hopped up '85 Honda Prelude, the enigine started SMOKING :cheeky: I don't know about your local laws for one but there has to be a way you can get it catergorized as a Historic Motor Vehicle of some sorts. That would be as bad as crushing a '69 Camaro. The same clowns who would crush a Honda for illegal street racing I seriously doubt would crush a '69 Camaro :pirate: (Anyone wanna chime on that?) If a car is really rare, a classic epecially sports cars, a one of a certain low number like 1 of 300 built, 1 of 25 like Mopars or any prototype car for that matter, I find it hard to believe a governing body would destroy it. Like you said in so many words, "Historicle Signifigance". If you find the council people in the phone books or via internet then you could plead your case to how important these cars is, historicly speaking. And don't seattle for the display only not to be driven deal. Stay persistent and if the yard is going to sell it in peices don't let them cut the body up, have them sell the shell as a whole if possible. Keep tying to find those loop holes and ask some folks in the appropriate government and "DVLA" bodies also for some help and information. Search for the proper websites and ask them with emial for some expert advice, what your trying to do has probably already been done before but not much known about to the public. If you don't get an answer you want or a person who doesn't know then keep asking, even in the same places, untill you find someone who does. If the council won't help then take you case as high up as it can go or to who ever is ultimately in charge at least. Laws get made and changed for a reason, and this is one of those reasons. If you really want to save this car and drive it street legal then this is where YOU have to step up if it gets to that point. Others can help you more than me of course but Stay Persistant! ~Z~
  22. Others can help you out here but in my opinion must folks who work in those kinds of places are pretty cool to deal with, so if all else fails have him set the car aside for you untill you can get possesion of it. Even if you have to give him a little extra coin for his trouble it might be worth it :bandit:. ~Z~
  23. Thyanx fellas. I'll try NGK wires instead, what part number for those? Yep, those are the ones, 99996-E2020. So what will they do to the engine exactly, missfire? To much spark for stock NGK plugs, rotor or something? ~Z~
  24. Thats just good T.V.
  25. Hi Fellas. I just bought a set of NOS Datsun Competition Sparkplug Wires on Ebay for $35 bucks (shipping included) and like to know if anyone is currently using these on thier Z or used them before. see attachment below -> Any recomendations on what Cap and Rotor would work best with them, read on the forum not to use with MSD of some kind, "..not recommended for use with the MSD box.". Is it also true they interfer with the radio signal? Figured they'd be good spark for the engine rebuild. ~Z~
