  1. Well, sorry to hear that bro. So basically you went about 4 or five days without them. It doesn't take much to pick up a phone and order a part, at least then they could've give you a approximate delivery time. Well tell Discount Tire we said hello .
  2. Sweet look . Always clean your Z is. If you find them coming loose take them off then use a little super glue on the base plate to car body screws. Worked for my MSA sport mirrors, now they no longer shake or come loose overtime from adjusting them. And makes stripped threads in the thin door skin a non issue .

Good friends do come in handy so for that remember what Psdenno said . Agree with thought on your carbs Tophu. Drove my new enging out of tune for the first 1,200 miles and it's my experience the longer you drive a car out of tune the worst it gets. Which problely explains why yours finally cut out. Once you do figure out your average mpg always fill up when you figure your down to 5 gals cause the low warning light may not came on. Or run the risk of pushing up a bigger hill from farther away . And Psdenno I feel the same way, I had a very good friend of mine too who I've known for ten years fall asleep at the wheel on his way home. Hit a telephone pole, rolled three times and came to a stop upside down in the middle of the highway. They said he died instantly and thankfully he didn't take anyone else with him. You think it'll never happen to you or someone you know but to loose a person in such a senseless way always feels empty. Truthfully He'd rather died playing beer pong
  4. Hello guys. Like my favorite slot machine, Antiques Appraiser, says, I'ma "Ask an expert". OK, I have a NOS speedo and like to confirm for sure what it is before selling it this week. Found it three years ago and part number is 24850-R5000 and reads on the box "C110 240K GT". Was told a parts catalog has it as a assy speedometer (150mph/240km) option GT / Hardtop 6/73 and up. Pics of it and more info is in the thread called ANOTHER YANK KENMERI. If anyone can further confirm this is what it is thanks .
  5. Ah yes, the dreaded tire flex. You wouldn't like my Grand Prix GT's either. Theres this 90 degree turn on my way home I like to dive into coming off the highway and the tires feel like they're gonna come of the rim some times. Then again I am going kinda fast . Still don't feel safe though. Ever tried the reproduction Goodyear Polyglass GT's? Heard they make them with modern stuff inside now but retro looks outside. Might be worth a look and they come in 15's.
  6. What do you mean by sidewall response?

Remember the rat rod guys combine parts from everything from a 1910 Ford, 36 Nash to a 1940's farm tractor then use a Buick nail head to power the thing. Magazines or whatever don't exactly list ever mod done on a feature car so assuming it's safe I like it . If the thing was already rusted up before the builder started I don't see the problem. Remember rat rodders are inventors, not crazy. Besides, don't it look EXACTLY like the Fairlady Z that Jada Toys put out a couple years ago? I mean Exactly like it ~Z~

Ok, let me help answere a question I thought would have been asked by now. Hellaflush is the term giving to the style of making your tires as flush and as close to the wheel wells or fenders as possible without touching it. Either verticaly commonly called flush mounted, or if tucked up and behind the fenders you still want it as close to the back of that wall as possible like the Z in question. This came to be most popular on Luxury cars such as Lexus, Alteza's, Infinities and the like. Most recently crossed over, in my view, to import performance cars as a result of the stretched tire craze. Far as the Rat Rod look the rules state, in that world of retro car guys which I'm also into, ANYTHING can be made into a rat rod AS LONG AS YOU FIRST MAKE IT SAFE. That means first if the frame is solid, the suspension issues have been addressed and the brakes work then you can pile on as much rust as you want.
  9. YEAH no doubt, thats what I thought, you gotta be joking. How the gonna show a photo of the thing like that and the only directions just basically says, "take it off".
  10. Thanks . I was hopping I didn't have to mess with the interior and unclip from the back. Try to pull the inside door panel off once but gave up cause the window crank handle wouldn't remove. The Haynes or Chilton manual, which ever one's the crappy one, only showed a picture of the handle already off!
  11. Got my new Front Door Seal and the plastic retainers, which you'll need if your doing this job too. How do you remove the chrome trim on the bottom of the outside door window? Part of the Seal needs to tuck under the trim where it meets the very front of the window frame, but can't seem to figure how to pull it off.
  12. And thats the sale price? ! For one? ! Man, Brembo's gettin over. Stock new everything front and back with steel drums is like $850 at Les Schwab Tires.
  13. Count me in too, mines are shot.
  14. Those valves were the only thing left stock on the whole engine. After three years of trouble free use the valve heads broke off, bounced around the combustion chamber and cracked the cylinder wall. Next thing you know, BOOM! ! $10,000 worth of damage, time for new engine. Engine going also had the effect of cooking the clutch and center diffedrential. Since it broke into the nine's to join the RH9 Club it will be back and soon become Project RH8 . Point being on high (insanely) horse power cars nothing can be left stock. That said, you should check out Tomie Powered USA at Tomieusa.com for awesome complet cam kits and other parts . ~Z~
  15. GOYO Racing, means Five Brothers in Japanese, built a tri carb, single turbo, 500HP monster that used to race in the streets of Okinawa. The turbo was placed about the area where the starter coil is and there was this huge tunnel looking thing that ran the length of the fender covering the inlets of the 3 carbs. Mostly all custom and nothing left stock. If you really wanna learn about cars and engine building I suggest you pick up or subscribe to Dsport magazine formaly known as Drag Sport at www.Dsportmag.com or just click on the picture in my sig . Hot cars, Hot chicks and on spot technical information. The senior editor drives a daily driver, full interior 1100 horse power R34 Skyline GT-R, aka Project RH9. It does the quarter in 9.17! Only a handfull are that fast and all but thiers is completly striped. The goal is to get it into the 8's ! But recently the engine blew. They chose to retain the stock sodium filled valves cause they were light.
  16. Oh, not a car track, SO you complain ? ! ! . Really though please tell who did you have to know to get approached for this awesome test drive . Did your Z happen on it's new found friend at the gas station or did you buy the right secretary a drink at the pub
  17. I think it's a terrific idea. Especially if all the factory markings can be reproduced as mentioned. I understand the minimum order requirement and the more you order the cheaper each individual part is. I just question weather there'll be 500 buyers all at one time to start production. Whats the minimum order number you need up front Esprit to start the production of 500?
  18. The Question's already been posed here, so if any one can help him out . . .
  19. Sweet Andy ! Yeah those guys are cool, they love their cars as much as we love our Z's. Joined the group 4th Gen Celica a few years ago after buying a NOS gt grille emblem, you know the one with the little red dragon on it, from a ex dealership guy in Texas. Fell in love with the thing and went looking for more information, thats when I really took to the car. All this after I had my Z though . Didn't know the badge would create such a buzz! Also got some NOS Crown and Creseda emblems from the guy too. Theres a couple Celica GT's in town, a White one with Red stripes near my house and a 70's color Orange Yellow one on other side of town that turns up once in a awhile. Have yet to line up against one in the Z though
  20. Darn, if I was still moving to Henderson, Tx this would be the first thing bought before a place to stay . Go ahead and buy it, don't touch it then turn around and flip it for at least 1500. Then buy some groceries or something .
  21. I think the price point is perfect. But 500 sets, thats alot of Z's. Is this for both 240 and 280z style lights and all rubber bits too?
  22. Uhh . . So that was your Z right?
  23. Yeah welcome to your new Home . How's Seattle? Some reason I think if they ever remade Bullit it would make a great location. I used to live in Vancouver, beautiful state, terrible weather. Then again it's easier to drift with rain .
  24. When a friend offers you the keys to his ride just say no? Come now, don't we all wanna be like the cool kids and jump off the bridge too? !

What ya trading, another cycle? What are you getting into, pure joy . As recommended have a pro check it out if possible. Search the forums for info on the"usual" rust spots. Check the frame rails for rust or hard dents. Let it idle for about 15 or 25 minuts and see if the temp guage spikes or redlines. Middle or 190 is about normal. Notice if it lags or hesitates at all and just general stuff you check when buying any other car
