  1. I have one from 1965 somewhere......
  2. There was a thread a few days ago about how every car that comes up for sale gets picked apart by the "experts". Now a 27K mile car come along and YOU question his story right off the bat. Does that make sense? You question his feedback, I see a guy that has sold a number of cars, with positive feedback. He has negatives in the past as many long time ebayers do. You question the faded carpet, while I expect a car that was driven and is 30 years old to have faded carpet. Like it or not, like it was discussed before, all cars that come up for sale on this forum get destroyed. Here is a very nice car and you are casting doubt on the seller. To me that is wrong.
  3. Can't pick apart the car, so pick apart the story? If he had dyed the carpet people here would say he is trying to hide something......
  4. Every time a nice car shows up on Ebay, this forum tears it apart. Can anyone show me a thread about a car for sale where the general concensus is that it is a nice car? I haven't seen it since I have been here.
  5. So what do I get to leave the guy that buys stuff and does not pay? Positive feedback: Did a great job at wasting my time A++++++
  6. I post all of my items on Ebay starting at $5 no reserve. I figure that is the easiest way to see what market value is. Some sell for lees than I expected, some sell for more. You can tell me all day long that a part is worth $500, but if no one is a buyer at that price.......
  7. OK I will try again. When I was looking at collector car insurance, a few companies were limited to 3000 miles per year and you had to send in the odometer reading every 6 months. I drive the Roadsters from MD to the vintage car events in New York, Mid Ohio, even from MD to Road Atlanta and back 2 years ago, which means the 3000 limit would be done quickly for me. Hagerty has never asked for the odometer reading. Hagerty understands some of us want to drive the cars, not trailer them. Yes, you need another form of transportation for daily use, and yes you need them in a garage. Next year I plan on a drive from MD to CA. If I had a company that limited me to 3000 miles per year, I would be stuck in CA
  8. It is the classicmotorsports magazines project car. Still owned by the magazine, they do small projects to it now and then as a feature in the mag.
  9. Hagerty does not have mileage restrictions, and they do allow you to drive it to work, just not every day. I actually had a claim with Hagerty and had no issues, even though the car was 700 miles from my house. My Dad drove one of my Datsun Roadsters to his house in Charlotte NC from my house in MD. He lives in a townhouse so it was parked outside. A Pizza guy backed into it hard enough to knock it up on the curb and did $8000 worth of damage. Hagerty told me to pick any shop in NC or MD and they would take the car there no charge. We found a local (NC) hot rod shop and had the car towed there. He gave them an estimate, the sent him a check. No hassles, no issues, no problem with the car being 700 miles from me. They understood that it was reasonable for Dad to decide to borrow the car for a week or so
  10. It was not a kit, it was a turn key car like the Zimmers and Excalibers. At one point the Excalibers were built on Camaro bodies. $80K for a Camaro!
  11. GM owns Saab also...
  12. There is no antique in MD, just historic. Cars must be 20 years old or older, and not used for every day transportation. Tags are $51 for 2 years, and no inspection is needed. For an extra $5 you can run a set of tags from the year of the car, you need to have a set of correct year tags and take them to DMV. They will put the number on file as being "attached" to the historic plate, you will need to have the historics in the trunk. I run correct year plates on mine for the extra touch, I have never been stopped even though the tag expired in 196X
  13. Haggerty here: 7 Datsun Roadsters, had a claim about 3 years ago. I had the car in NC at Dads house when a pizza guy hit it so hard he pushed it up on the curb. He had no insurance, Hagerty said I could take it to a shop in NC or they would trailer it to Maryland, where I live, if I wanted them to. Dad found a shop in Charlotte, and Hagerty sent it there. I flew back home, and in 3 months they shipped my car back to me. No hassles, no headaches, over $10K worth of damage.
  14. Put a few dryer sheets in the car, mice can't stand them. I usually put one on each floorboard, one under the hood, and one in the tailpipe. No mice issues anymore, and mine are stored in the barn.
  15. A paintless dent repair guy would be a good first step. Stop by any car dealer and ask who they use, then get him to look at the car. He will be able to tell you if he can fix them or not.
  16. The one sold on Ebay was #2, which was advertised as the first one sold to the public, since they were keeping #1. #3 was sold at Nationwide Nissan in Maryland. It is a Red Touring 6 speed car. Right now it has about 4K miles on it.
  17. Tha's the beauty of Ebay. $40 to list, $50 more if it sells. He is getting a lot of exposure for $40
  18. Stickerman replied to 26th-Z's topic in History
That car was for sale about 7 years ago in Texas, it had been in a museum for a long time. The color choice was pre determined for the new owner as it is the original paint.
  19. This part is confusing Interior Completely stock. Aftermarket seats. ?
  20. You know they were saying that in about 1975 also....
  21. It should have been tough to find a new Z in 97. 96 was the last year for them......
  22. The barn is real, the story is not. http://www.snopes.com/photos/automobiles/barnfind.asp
  23. 79 was the first year for the Datsun by Nissan badges, all cars from 1979-1983 had them. The 1984 and later had only Nissan badges
  24. I asked them if it was. Here is the reply: Makes me wonder about the mileage too.
  25. I think it is strange that they don't mention it has been repainted.....
