  1. Oh boy, whats next, the Queen in Reebook ????????
  2. Thank's you two, fast and efficient as usual. Alan, I wonder about those jap bonnets, I saw a nice (matter of taste!) Toyota 2000, it was yellow with a dark olive green bonnet. Was it usual to use tinted matt colours ? In Europe I only know the black type, like from Opel, Simca, Ford, Peugeot… I think that satin is ok? I was afraid that greasy fingers would mark and stamp the surface, but in fact, it must be easyer to maintain clean.
  3. What kind of paint would you use to paint it? plain black with a mat varnish, flat black paint ? All of you replica boys this one's for ya ! Fred
  4. Alors là , you're all wrong "zaid" that's the only way to pronounce it, glad it's not a zed hex, zee hix, no zaid ixe grrrrrrr........ forum!!! humm and what about peugeot...
  5. Salut encore, I think that MSA is selling louvered panels for the 280Z, they where "factory" upgrade at the time. Or we need to source a used one from an older 280Z, any junkyard rats around... s"il-vous-plait?
  6. is that what your looking for ? Salut Sean, I think that their price is under average, and don't know anything about the company...
  7. See, that's what I was talking about in a previous post. I would also change my wiring harness if the price was right, and if a new one was available... How many are we in this case? I say it again lets organize us to have those parts made for us at the price we want... We have enough knowledgeable peoples around to develop the right product from the first time... and more than 1000 members, thats a lot of individual, it's called mass market. Finding the spec wouldn’t be too hard, and when you see at what speed the wiring get gremlined... I am ready to put a deposit for a product like that, refundable if it doesn't turn out the way we want. If we have enough founds then we could ask a few company to start their proposal. We keep the cash on a bank account then business start... Any lawyer around to put the business plan together??? So up to now, that’s : # 1 : wiring harness # 2 : mud, water splash guard # 3 : interior panels in a more recent material, same look better plastic # you say it...
  8. Hey, I second that. First because Sean is our club president (so he his always right, right?) and then because he his our club presi... (!!!!!). No, seriously, rust is the Z killer, is there an after market splash guard for the inner wheel arch in front and rear or a Z body???? If not, isn't-it time to design one, unbreakable plastic is cheap today, maybe if ye get 500 + orders form we could have a company design one. No more mud on top of those air channel... Keep your orders coming.... still 498 to go (hey, what about a nice poll... ?) Fred = 1 Sean = 2

Hello Alan, mine is black... I will crawl under to check if there is anything special about it. I never thought about having it chromed but it's not a bad idea, in fact it's a very good one... Would you go to a Zutopia meeting ? In UK or in an other euro country ?

Alan, my older car, a LHD French one is equipped with this footrest. I am thinking of reusing it in the LHD one. My question is : is there a place to find the rubber protection that goes on the bar ? I can restore the metal part to good enough condition but it will be just time wasted if I cannot put a decent clean rubber part on it after the new powder coating !

easy one, yes it's a cool thing that will let you use a wider range of late FWD wheels on your Z. It will get you a Honda pattern. For what it's worth!!!

    What is that for?
  13. Any good definition picts of a Z painted in Old English White or in Primrose? someone? Please?
  14. Your are right about the greatness of this invaluable site! I will think about your idea. Maybe is there another way around... with all the connexion and attention this site has, maybe we could accept to lose a little of this nice space to lend it to a respectable Z related company? Don't get me wrong, I do not want this wonder bannered in all sorts of colourful coupon offer, it's just that at 150$ a month, a Z company would nicely get it's money back, and gain a nice publicity for SUPPORTING this web site? As a gentleman, I am welling to by the stuff I need to this "Company of the month" (if they play a clean game!). Witch make me thinking, we are more than a few now here, could we work some kind of order sheet, maybe in grouping our command we could get some parts refurnish or even redesign… I am thinking of Carbon fibber hoods, wings, tailgates… New crystal tail lens… for one order they wouldn’t move, I wouldn’t either but for 50 or 100… We could do the whole thing the other way around and maybe ask for what we want before it’s even done????? Together we are power!!!!! Just my 2 eurocents here!
  15. I am not sure this tread will apply to you Uncle Sam Fanatics. Anyway, here in Europe Lancia came with one of the most unreal factory hot-road sedan. The 8.32 Thema is nothing more than a plain Sedan with a Ferrari V8 inside. I saw an ad the other day for a trashed Thema 8.32 and ... what if again ! So for you GTO replica owner, wouldn't you like to put a real Ferrari engine in your car? the engine was around 1500$ not cheap but it would have the real Ferrari badge on it. Performance wise it's kind of light at 215 hp, but that sound!!! To be honest it has not a good reputation (reliability, running cost) but it's still a lot nicer than a Chevy or Ford or Buick one. Don't get me wrong I like those Z with v8 just not good with a GTO body... more with the Cobra Coupe one. And Allan will tell us that it's been done before...
  16. It's like nobody use the chatroom anymore, is it because the forum is so convenient? because nobody noticed it was there? It's a shame, go for it, the paint is dry by now and the rooms are brand new and well worth going to see... Fred the blabalber
  17. Sir Alan, you have been promoted to the rank of Azmiral or our fleet. You have such a broad firepower, every time I think I will nail you... you come up with a pertinent response! I give up (no don't worry I will use you data base again, I want to know if it has an end? I am an human, as for you I start to doubt ! still not sure about angel or demon... :classic: :devious: Well This look awesome, almost like inside a Swiss watch, and some found that a 3carbs set-up look busy!!!! So there is a kit, is it for the manifold and linkage? from what you say they didn't used it for an economical issue? Well, merci, merci again.
  18. Thank you, so we have a brave here, If I read you correctly, I did use unleaded for a long period of time without any bad side effects? was it a 240-260 ? I will tell him that (it's not my car after all!!!!) Thanks, fast repply as usal... Fred
  19. Merci you both, my French practical sense make me think that if it never have been done before, it doesn't mean that it's not worth trying (very rational, hee?). Maybe I will try this test "new mod" in my free time.
  20. Is it really bad (I think it is!) to use unleaded gas in a 260 alu head? How many miles before the valves sink into the ports? It's not for me, as I am ZXed, but for a fellow member... Every comments are welcome, fred
  21. :stupid: I was looking at my bike the other day and a spark lighted my already burning head. What if I put 6 motorcycle carbs on a triple carb manifold? Why do motorcycles have one carb/cyl and not cars? They are very inexpensive around here and a lot of sizes are available ? Ever been done ? Fred
  22. Oh sorry, and what about butterscotch? like it better?
  23. over classic but not seen much...
  24. Endless... What can I say, I keep going deeper and deeper toward the dark side of the Z world and I cannot find any limits! Thanks a lot for your reply, fast and efficient. So now, tell me more about it if you can, is it really a kit, or is it home made? Does the car venture in our country from time to time? Thanks, Fred
