  1. First things first, (and Enrique said same), steering, brakes, and suspension FIRST, for safety reasons. If the car runs fairly sound, your priority should be the one that keeps you motivated... -If you're more inclined to do mechanical work on a car that you love the looks of, do cosmetic first. -Conversely, if you're more inclined to doll up a beast, then get busy on the mechanical side. If you keep that in mind, the odds are high that you won't quit on the project before you're done! ...my opinion. Good Luck!
  2. without fanfare: The older cars: 68, 69, 70 Big Mopars (Super Bee, GTX, Roadrunner, Charger, R/T) Shelby Cobras 68, 69, 70 Mustang Bosses 69 Camaro Rally Sport 66 GTO Any early Fairlane The early 50's Mercuries (the ones that get chopped and lowered; I wouldn't do it, but those are the years that are tits) The newer cars (only those that are within reach): Audi S4 and the yet to be intro'd S6 replacement BMW M3 or M5, even the wagons Toyota Celica Supra GT Lexus GS400 Ford Lightning P/Up truck

Mike, I wasn't aware (and really still don't know why) there would be any difference in the seal kits from the earliest 240's through 78 280's. The areas being sealed (windows, doors, etc) were identical on all early Z's....I thought. Perhaps some flanges or lips or something else that is not visible were changed.

My kit was mfg'd by (for?) Precision Replacement Parts; purchased from Classic Datsun Motorsports. I haven't installed yet, as my car is still pre-paint. If I recall, Les at Classic stated that the kits that are available now (whether his, VicBrit's, or Motorsports') all fit and seal quite well in the late 260's and 280's. 240's and early 260's require some extra effort with all of the kits that are currently available. FWIW

Very Nice... I love the paint. Your site looks great; it's scary seeing the parts list. What's the tally to-date???

  15. The compressor is probably manufactured by Sanden, near Dallas. They're a big Tier 1 automotive supplier... Ford, Saturn, Mazda, Honda. (They use a shitpot load of our CNC drilling and tapping machines.) Just watching the thread, and had to chime in. I'm pulling for you Mushu! I need to do the same to my 4-wheeled convection oven.

I confiscated what I could from it. Only good items left are front air dam and half-dash cover.
