  1. Actually, the earlier back plate is the one with the choke cable bracket. So, the car your recently bought has the correct back plate and housing.
  2. Turns out, it's threaded and it had gotten bottomed out on the threads. I'm putting this here just in case someone else comes up with this issue and can't figure it out.
  3. @siteunseen it’s close to a liter bike… it’s an 899. Possibly one of the best bikes I have with respect to rideability and overall use (the one in the picture is my track machine but I have 2 more for the street). I have an 1198sp and that thing is a tire hog. I’m usually lucky to get 2k miles on a street tire.
  4. Get a propane torch and go back about 3-5 inches on the rear pillars above the quarter windows. Melt the body lead out and you'll see the welded junction between the roof skin and the quarter skin. Cut through the rear pillars there at the junction. Just go down a bit on the A pillars and cut through there. Turn it over and drill out the MANY spot welds and you can pull the entire roof skin intact off the roof skeleton. OR - give it to someone else that way and leave them to remove the skin from the skeleton... It's safer to handle with the skeleton still attached.
  5. My old hunting ground. The lower yard tends to flood in the winter time, it's by the Tualatin River. 75% off! No idea what's there. October 21th?

I'm sure it still has the engine because it would sit higher without it. But I thought the same thing. They say diesel but it would be nice to see the engine for confirmation. If someone is close enough they can go by and inspect it.
