  1. Won BEST OF THE SHOW ....
  2. I do have the original pics. I will upload them again tomorrow and hopefully breathe new life into this thread.
  3. I agree with your diagnosis. The needle valve appears to be the problem.
  4. Here's a pic of the whole rack exploded. Only thing you can't see is the lower pinion bearing. I pulled it out, cleaned it, and put it back in before I thought to take this shot. And I wasn't going to pull it again just for the camera: Left end parts: Right end parts:
  5. You're soaking in it.

Restoration is so cool. Blue is right.....send that cam off to Isky and it'll come back like new. Wish we could send ourselves off and have us come back like new.....
  8. IMO getting rid of the brake warning system or any warning light is not a reduction or a simplification. More of an open door for a disaster. One should never assume any brake system is always going to work, especially in a 40 something year old car. That's what those are for. There are plenty of threads here and on other sites as to upgrading the brakes to wilwood or Toyota 4 piston and that is very doable. But I would keep the warning systems it it were me.
  9. I have responded to your requests Philip and Jim. Thank you for the compliments on the clips. Just glad I could solve one of my own problems and help others at the same time. I was not able to find any barrel clips that were small enough for the holes as everything I had on hand was too big. Knowing I will remove these at some point in the future to paint the car, I did not want to do something so secure that it would break the pins off when I remove them. I ended up using some black RTV gasket maker to essentially glue them in place. Using some blocked of styrofoam and a few bungee cords wrapped around the hatch to apply pressure on each end, the final result looks fantastic. They sit nice and flush against the body. I tried pulling up on them and so far they seem pretty secure. Below are some pictures of the end result. Job done!
  10. I've read some threads about restoring a 240z steering wheel, but I'm not sure what method I should use to restore mine. Someone mentioned using an SOS soap pad, which sounds like a good idea. What do you guys think is the best way to restore the wood on a 240z steering wheel to its original look?
