  1. At the permission of our board owners, I would like to invite all of my classic Z car family to read and enjoy my new website. It has been a work in progress for a good while and their will be a great many Z related articles (in fact I am writing one right now). I have an opinion page that I add content to every week when possible as well as a small photo gallery that will grow exponentially soon. I have articles on barn finds and how to buy your first vintage car. Please with the permission of the owner of this website, I think it will be an enjoyable book mark for some www.testdrivemylife.com Let me know your opinions about browsing and organization. I have tried to catch all the typos, but Lord knows, when I write words flow faster than my fingers can keep up. Thanks I look forward to the feed back.
  2. I will take a look to see if I have still have any of these.
  3. Sweaty and Dave, Some time ago I moved my water control valve up into the engine compartment, so I'll just reconnect to that location as before the Escort core. Because of the work previously done, that part of the job should be easy. One hose will go straight to the head with no splices, and the other hose will go to the Acura valve in the engine bay. I wrote up the details of that valve relocation in this thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/44009-heater-water-****-valve-relocation-project/ Here's a pic of the valve in the engine bay and there are some other pics in that thread:
  4. you need a ground from the battery to the engine block, and one from the engine block to the body/frame. 8 gauge will work well, but make sure all connections are clean and tight. i would be willing to bet 85-90% of all electrical problems are loose connections/bad grounds
  5. Your car has always been something I just stop and stare at. Every. Single. Time
  6. Soooo...California, Arizona and NJ are expensive to get your car painted; Florida, Alabama and South Carolina, not so much. I was quoted $6-7000 for all my metal work, epoxy primer, finished in basecoat clearcoat. One of the guys would blast it for that... I opted to do it all myself because I can use that $6000 to buy tools and new parts. I figure I will have about $10 -$12,000 in it reasonably finished. I am not trying to build a trailer queen but a nice driver. One thing you could try, is call Datsun Spirit or another reputable Z specialist and see if they paint or could recommend someone that is not too far away. Even if you have to trailer it out of NJ, for that kind of money hauling it a few hours would be well worth it.
