Got a few more items added to the car. Got the skid plate powder coated and attached to the underside of the car. Never realized that all of the nutplates are there on the bottom of the car. Bolted up nicely with some new M4 bolts. Got the horns re-furbed and installed. Also got the choke cable holder installed. Re-tuned the carbs while I had the air cleaner off. Also took the car for a nice drive to check everything out. It's running great with plenty of power. Very smooth and great to drive on the freeway. Took the car to the alignment shop last week and got that dialed in. Looking forward to the JCCS in a couple weeks. She is close to being finished.
  2. So far, so good. Working first to fill the cracks and get the dash back into shape. Like others, I've used the Great Stuff foam to fill the cracks. I stuck some galvanized wire into the largest crack over the center gauge since it's thin and has nothing else behind it. I put tape over the cracks thinking it might reduce the expansion and make it denser, but I don't think it made a difference or was worth the effort. Side note: I'm a little surprised people have had good and/or long lasting results with the Great Stuff foam, given how much more compliant it is than the rest of the dash. Trimmed off the excess and started with rough shaping, then continued sanding to try and level everything out. Shot a light coat of black paint to try and highlight trouble spots. It's looking pretty good: still some bumps to smooth out and I need to clean up the curve around the gauges. I'd like to get the small gauge housings a bit closer to round as well, especially the clock. Might be able to lay the first layer of glass by next weekend...if UPS can move fast.

  6. Very Early Seat Belt Hook? KATS mentioned a rubber coated steel hook. I think this may be it. It came mixed with a pile of nuts and bolts and plastic bits. I could only find one,
  7. THANKS KATS! I was just about to ask about this. I found the part in a bin that came with HLS30-00249.
  8. Update time... My key blanks arrived from Thailand But the top of my ignition barrel is stuffed...so I may have to order a new one. But i've managed to secure some parts which my coupe was missing. But also more extra goodies. GTR C110's are exclusively are 1973 model cars. But mine is a 1975 which has later model round vents and a different centre console compared to the 1973. So sourcing these parts through YAJ was going to be an expensive prospect... ...until i was contacted by a friend who had decided to part out his 1973 coupe as it had been in a fairly serious accident. These are what i managed to secure for my coupe. The missing Stainless Steel trim piece across the top of the windscreen. Now i have all the SS Trim for the car. In here is a Drivers Door glass, only need a front windscreen now The early square drivers side vent. A little piece is broken out of it but i'll still use it until i can afford another. The early style glovebox with square vent And an early Centre Console...complete with Factory Radio and Cassette player !!!!!! I've been polishing the indicators lenses and they look like they'll work ok. I'll hit them with some clear to keep them from getting worse. I'm still waiting on the gaskets to come from Japan for those too. I'll need to cut the plugs as they've disintergrated and put new ones on. Narva make some so that's sorted. Just have to send the housings away for plating... ...so some progress is happening, although that will slow for christmas. Good times.
  9. I'm having trouble getting a good picture for comparison purposes, but I have both gray instrument face plates and black ones. And I have both black and gray radio face plates also. Here is a real good shot of the instrument face plate from 26th. Obviously gray. Notice the heater switch is different from the typical fan symbol on the switch. Then, a picture from 27th with the more typical heater switch knob. Obviously gray as well. I realize that the radio has been changed in 27th, but notice that the volume control label on the face plate was painted silver whereas Jim's face plate shows no sign of the silver highlighting. I'll have to admit that at first I just attributed the gray to fading but now that you are making me take a hard look at all of this I'm inclined to agree.
  10. Hi Mike/Chris: Here is a picture of the item in HLS30 00016. That is two owner car, and as I recall it has about 70-80K miles. Always garaged and cared for.. We drove it back to Florida from Ohio with the original 1969 Spark Plug Wires still in place.. As you can see, compared to the Black Dash, and Heater Control nobs - the Heater Control Panel is gray. FWIW, Carl B.
