  1. i've been dealing with a stinky cabin whenever i open the windows and knew that my rear hatch seal was in bad shape. i actually have a new oem seal, but since it's a glue-on part, i'm waiting until i do the bodywork and re-paint the car to install it. in the meantime, i decided to order the kia seal as an interim solution. i poked around online and found one for $35 from korea. it took a couple weeks to arrive, but i was in no hurry. it installed pretty easily and one door seal did the job nicely - about 1 1/2" needed to be cut out. a little searching and you could find the factory end splice and i cut it there with a utility knife. it works well and the hatch closes much more easily now. i still get a little bit of stink in the cabin with the window down, but much less. not sure where my other leaks are - will have to do a test with a smoke machine to find 'em. the kia seal is super easy to install, but it did bump into my interior plastic panels in a couple of places, which makes the fit a little wonky, but it does the job fine for the price. comparison of oem to kia profile my old seal was falling apart press it on, trim the ends and done

The padded headliner of the 240Z was specifically designed to mitigate the adverse effects of multiple episodes of blunt force trauma to the female passenger's cranial region when she engages in vigorous and unrestrained sexual exploits with the male driver within the confines of the vehicle. Although this activity was not envisoned by the Nissan engineers, it is a welcomed side benefit.
  3. try to seal the pcv system. The filter on the catch can will mist oil all over that beautiful engine compartment. fyi car show guys put window screen in front of radiator to keep bugs and road debris out of rad and engine.
  4. SUCCESS!! Since all of the driver side lights would light up with every other function except the brake pedal I figured there was no ground issue. Since I could never figure out to test just the wiring I went back to the switch itself and opened it again. After studying it a little longer I figured out the V or roof shaped terminal was the component controlling the power to the brake lights and would push the contact open when the turn signal was switched in that direction. After some quick tests I determined the driver side contact was open by just a fraction of a millimeter. I cleaned it with a emory board and bent the tab a little so it would provide a reliable connection. Once reassembled and installed on the car my repair results were confirmed as I went through several cycles of the switch in all positions. Thank you Steve for all your guidance and the information you have provided to the Z car community.
  5. Hi Bob, Common mod to get the CR up on the P90 in a N/A engine is to shave the head 2mm, shim the cam towers 2mm and use the valves out of the N47 head. You could do this to your P79 head if the bottom end is in good shape, this could be an alternative with the P79 head. Its not a perfect design with dished pistons, but the P79 is considered the better of the two heads. Chas PS: Might want to start a new thread if you are considering changing heads. It would be an interesting discussion.
  6. I have only seen pictures of this clip. This clip will be Cad plated.
  7. NOV 1969 S30 parts catalog The left dirty one has just arrived, I do not know why 'DATSUN' on top ! Some very interesting pictures are included, this very first Japanese parts catalog was my dream, recently I have got from Yahoo auction in Japan. Many pages are missing figure / diagram, i.e. the pages are blank. There is a note ' to be surplied soon' So you need to have a later version of the catalog to complete. I have been using MAR 1970 version, now looking at them side by side. Kats

I run Konig 16 X 7 0 offset with 225-50 Michelin Pilot Sports and no issue with the center caps at all. Car has never handled so well. Only issue I had was some very slight rubbing on the rear tires at the top of the fender well when I would go over large bumps in the road. A slight roll of the rear fenders cured that problem. Here's a few pictures so you get an idea of how they look. Mike.
