Does anyone have a picture of the wire orientation here. Or can you help me decipher it. Passenger side, by where your knee would be, how do these two wires go onto this? Does it matter? The printout I have isn’t clear enough to see.

Ahhh apologies. New to this.

My grandfather’s 1971 240z with a Sept mfr date. I found his car 30 years later, bought it, got it running, and now I’m having the engine rebuilt.

I’m trying to get the rest of the car ready for the new engine so I put a new dash in.

The picture you showed seems to be a flasher for the turn signals. There are some good diagrams in the Downloads area that might help you. I don't think that the flashers have polarity, the current just passes through and gets turned off and back on as the bimetal strip heats and cools.

Here's one by EuroDat for the 71 240Z, and the general Downloads area link for more possibilities, like the Owners Manual. Find the flasher and see if the wire colors match. Good luck.

Car looks very nice, is your grandfather still around to see it? Mine is long gone but I still have good memories. Learned that the sight glass on the AC line on his truck was not meant to be pushed. SSSSssstt....

See if there are markings on the flasher unit near the terminals. If you see an L, that is the terminal for the green/white wire.

The worst case scenario is that you put the wires on and test your hazard lights. If they don't work, flip the wires around on the flasher relay.

Jut for future correctness, that is the hazard flasher, not the turn signal flasher. But getting to the point... As mentioned above, the orientation of those two wires does not matter. Either way will work.
