What it would look like to get a flat in 1970. I’m using simple green to take off the layers of grime. I used a plastic scraper on the thick stuff on the struts. It takes the paint off. I started using a plastic brush, it works but the thick stuff is a problem, any ideas on a better way to remove the thick grime?

I used plastic paint scrapers. They're cheap so you can get a few sizes. I like Murphy's oil soap. It's  a good cleaner and no harmful chemicals. Mix it with super hot water for the best results. I have a plastic coffee container with a lid and microwave it before using. Sponge it on let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes then scrap the greasy goop off.

Took a short drive out to 8789’s house today to check out his new acquisition since we live in the same town. Awesome looking car! He forgot a pic of the original antenna. emoji106.png

Thanks for the visit. It was nice to hang out and talk cars.

How do I get a period license plate for my car?

You’ll need to hunt around or buy a pair of blue plates, and an old 1970 year sticker. Got my sticker off eBay, plates can be found other places, and may be priced at $200-300 depending on condition. For a 70 I’d try to get a pair that start with a lower number since that was to first year for blue plates.

Once I get them what’s next? Do I register as a specialized plate and put on the blue plates
Rathe than the plates I receive?
