  1. I don’t know why I didn’t notice this during disassembly, but my front right caliper has lick washers on it and the left do not. Should I install lock washers on the front left?
  2. Where is the best place to get torque specs? I’m installing my front brake calipers?
  3. I need a windshield washer fluid container. I've learned that OEM doesn't necessarily mean the same as original. I want an original container, any ideas where I can get one? and how can I be sure it's original?
  4. I'll get back to this later when I work it out what I want to do.
  5. I ordered a master cylinder (OEM) to replace mine. When I got it, it was a little different than my original, but still OEM. I'm learning some things here. I decided to rebuild my original MC. Here's what I found. Where the MC is inserted into the booster, the end is corroded. You can see in the picture. is this still usable? Also, I can't get the large nut off where the brake lines are attached to the MC. A free stream of air goes through, but I still get the feeling they should come off? Thanks. Allen
  6. How much are your decals? The data tag is missing!
  7. The car has been registered as a 71 and a 70. It's currently registered as a 70. The vin is hls30-08987. The titles I have show that years ago it was titled as a 71. I was thinking the guy that owned it before me wanted it to be a 70 so he did something to change the title. I don't know if there is a definitive way to know what year it it? if there is i'd like to know so I can keep things as original as possible.
  8. Dan, yes, I'd love to get the decal. Good work .
  9. I just got my booster back. These guys do a great job.
  10. I want original. I'm learning some things the hard way.
  11. Crap, I ordered it. It looks like false advertising then if it says OEM. That price and the fact that they say OEM, it should be OEM. AM I expecting too much? How do you know if a part is OEM, if OEM no longer means OEM?
  12. https://zcardepot.com/collections/master-cylinder/products/brake-master-cylinder-oem-240z-260z-280z Good OEM replacement ?
  13. Is New remnaufactured OEM? https://zcardepot.com/products/brake-caliper-front-240z-260z-280z-70-78?variant=19275575623793 And I’m assuming that this OEM part is the same on both sides, since all I can find is the “right” side? https://zcardepot.com/products/wheel-cylinder-oem-right-70-72-240z?variant=19275500486769
  14. One and done, what do you think. https://zcarsource.com/complete-brake-kit-240z-70-72-new Carl Beck, thoughts ?
  15. And what should I do at all four corners. I have the wheels off and ready to start these also. The drum brakes look like they have some brakes left and the wear on the drum looks even. I haven't worked on brakes in a while, so I'm not sure of the terms. But I think it's the calipers, should I get new ones or rebuild these? I don't mind putting a little money into this thing. I want to have all good equipment on it that I install. S
  16. I pulled the master cylinder resivour off. It's dried out and it looks like some type of corrosion. The master cylinder itself is full of crud! Do I need to pull the unit off the firewall and flush/clean it? I'm cleaning the reservoirs and will blow out the lines. I'm just not sure what to do with the unit on the firewall? How far should I tear into the brakes I have all the hubs off. When I first brought the car home I had to dismantle the rear hubs and brakes in order to move the car. Now the brakes are dialed way back. I'm looking for all around advise on this pice of the project. So far the fuel system is complete. Cooling system is almost complete. Carburetors have been removed and cleaned. I backed the car out of the shop today to flush the block with water. That is the first time I've ever driven a 240Z, or any Z. Reverse with no brakes. The car seemed to run pretty well for the short time it was running. It backfires through both carburetors when I tried to increase the throttle ? Moving along. I have a goal now, I just can't remember what it is. It's a date I want to finish it and take it to a car show.
  17. I'm going to start fixing up the brakes. Any things I should pay close attention to here ?
  18. Newly rebuilt radiator. Probably the best part on the whole car. I need to get a thermostat and the cap that houses it, the cap is cracked, any ideas where I can get the cap/radiator hose to block connector?
  19. I’m. not sure where you were going with this, I think it might help me, I’m just not sure what youre saying?
  20. With my radiator out and the rust and other gunk that came out of it, is there something i should to clean out the coolent portion of my engine block? If so what ?
  21. I took my radiator in to have it boiled and tested. It was leaking. I was given lots of options. I chose to have it re-cored with three aluminum rows. So, it will have the old look with a new aluminum core. $578 .
