only other far out possibility is a Godzilla pump putting out so much volume it just overwhelms the system. I am going to do some test on volume as well (a timed measurement). outside of that I am all out of suggestions.

I think I have that exact gauge (not the same one I used on my test) will try it out as well to see if there is any difference.

OLD FPR - fuel pump only = ON pressure is 45 psi !!!! (See video.)

I'm checking service records now, looked back to 2008 and did not see any mention of fuel pump replacement.

I'm going to button her up for the night, then do a deep dig on service records to see if I can find out when it was last replaced.

What's the next step....?

New fuel pump?

Testing the vacuum from the intake manifold to the FPR?

Kinda stumped here.

I think that we've all been just farting around with a bad gauge the whole time.  Pittsburgh is a Harbor Freight brand.  It's been fun.  I have three gauges in my garage, two good ones and bad one (but with a known offset).

His FPR's are probably fine.  The AFM has probably been adjusted, by somebody, in the past.  Might have some high resistance on the coolant temperature circuit.  

But, without "knowns" you're just stumbling around in the dark.

Actually it's a sign of inconsistency.  The gauge was stuck at 3 for a while, then it's at 0.  It fits the overall randomness of the readings from that gauge.

OK so as to the gauge and it's consistency..... I GET IT.

I will borrow one from Pep Boys tomorrow and see if I get different results.

Flogging a dead horse on that point.
