Anti Rattle Springs on Stock frong brakes?

Featured Replies

I'm finishing up the rebuilding of my front suspension and brakes. I bought all new hardware for may brakes and the kit came with a wire spring I've never used in the past.  I'm sure its not needed as its not in any of the manuals I've seen, I think its an anti rattle spring but how would you install it on a stock 1972 240Z disk brake setup?

Thanks,

They do fit the stock application. Can't remember how the little boogers fit though.

The flat spring steel clip ( 4 of them ) fit over each pads and are retained by the Pad locating pin. That's all we used to run as that provides 90% of the anti-rattle damping.

I don't remember them on my early 71. but who knows, maybe the P.O. considered them extraneous B.S. Never had a problem with brake squeal.

Don't forget to use brake shims, see the other post in "Wheels Tires Brakes"  about "Pads and Booster"....

Never seen those springs...
