For want of a better name, mines currently called "Chomp", for a few reasons, it takes a huge chomp out of any money i accumulate working, it had a redback spider infestation when i got it, and its taken that many bites out of my knuckles stripping it down, as well as dropped a diff on me, it had to be something violent.

First one was called Roxy after a Roxette song lyric whiche went "looks like a woman, walks like a man" !

Second one was called Fleche as in fleche d'argent (silver arrow) on account of the colour.

Latest one is gonna be called bebete 'cos it's creamy coloured - I think you have to speak French to work out why - eh Fred ?

A bete is also an animal and she's sure gonna stalk them Porsches man !

My "She Who Keeps A Close Eye On The Purse Strings" Gave my Zed the name "Precious".

Had it been left up to me I would have chosen FRED or DaZed or something else with character and imagination befitting the cars clean lines and magnetic attraction. But, I was outvoted.

Rick.

Why is it that I get the impression your Sheilas down under rule the roost ?

Most Aussies I've met wouldn't let you get one past 'em but your women have evolvedvery effective methods of 'convincing' you !

French women are generally passive (I chose the difficult one !) and english lasses are easy going - and yours ?

Well, here I was thinking that my 240Z had a fairly unique nick; and then I read Leeroy's post, where his car has the same name as mine. Maybe us Zed people have more in common than we think :)

MY car was named Zelda from the 60's TV show "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis" in which one of the main characters was called Zelda. This name was also selected because of the few female names starting with "Z".

The above site has a pic of "Zelda".

Cheers

Sean,

The answer is really quite simple.

Over successive generations, mothers have passed on to their daughters the one sure fire method of winning an argument.

Say no as though you mean it.

Rick.

That, and they have taught their daughters the law of supply and demand.

"Cut off the supply, and the demand rises!" LOL It's makes her a winner everytime in my house! :ermm:

Hi all, my Z31 Turbo is called "SUMO" 'cause it is so powerful and looks like one of those fat fighters, my wife's 280ZX is "Grandpa", my 240 Z is "ElviZ" - a tribute to the greatest rock'n'roller of the late 60s, early 70s (that was Z time) - and my other 240Z is "Angie" 'cause A) it came from LA and B) because of one of my favorite songs, "Angie" from the Rolling Stones .

You all found nice names for your ladies.

Guus, that was a lovely dog

I like the "sumo" reference for the Z31; my '86 was named by its original owner (a middle aged woman of English extraction) and as such it's called "Lady Clara". I don't much care for it but it is an aging plump and somewhat slow handling car.

The '78 S30 must be named "Godzilla" only because it's fun as hell to drive while playing the Blue Oyster Cult song of the same name:classic: and it's a period song (one that you might have heard while cruising with a cold can of Budweiser in the late '70's--who said DUI?)

The other Z's in the collection haven't earned names just yet--need some additional behind the wheel time to reveal their personalities--kind of like dating women--you don't see all of the flaws the first night out.ROFL

check out the cars and give us your opinions:

(anything with the name "Rob" is unfortunately mine)
