Thank you for your thoughtful reply!

I recently did some heavy sanding and some sandblasting on one side to truly see what I was dealing with. Here are a few pictures...

Only today did I come to the realization that this is truly a goner, although I still don't want to put it down. I am going to sell parts to make some money and hopefully fund an actual build. The money will also help me buy some needed things for my Jeep. Been kind of down all day. I can only pray that someday soon I find a better chassis to actually make road worthy!

Search craigslist and other zcar forms and I would be very surprised if you don't find another workable car in 6 months

I have searched all over and found some promising examples. My problem is money, but I'll see what all I can sell and save up.

Just give they guys a call and see how much they are willing budge on the price, when I bought my Z I talked the guy down 2k in hindsight I should have talked him down another $700 but well.

I bet that guy would come down $1200 just to see the car gone.

I've been looking at that car myself.  Not too far from where I live, but I think that ones pretty far gone too.  The floor picture and passenger door tell the tale.  It's hard to find a car around here without a lot of rust.  I think Roanoke is about 4 hours from DC. FWIW.

Steath, I'm pulling for you buddy, but be patient.  The right car will come along.

Got the windshield out and all the wires disconnected. The engine pull is soon to come, and the headliner still needs to come out.

Well guys, it has been a while since I have updated this thread.

I have made a decision that probably won't shock most of you. I have decided to sell this Z as is or parted out. Honestly, I just do not have the time or money to pour into it. I have taken a ton of pictures and will post a sale thread sometime soon. I know I can make money on this if I find the right buyers, as I have some nice parts!

Thank you guys for the support you have given me. I cannot wait till I am able to buy another Z that is road worthy!

Good luck. If you find a car you're interested in feel free to post up pictures and get some feedback on condition and value

You dodged the bullet. There will be another Z, they are not that rare yet.
