Wiper reset?

Featured Replies

New to the forum and didn't see any threads.

I've seen many pics of wipers sticking up and not laying down. I can get a new motor but wanted to see if there was a simple fix.

Define sticking up & not laying down & what is your goal?

I think he's talking about the wipers parking in the up position.

Yes they park in the up position.

I pulled the motor out today but not sure what to look for and what might be bad.

I want them to park in the normal position

My wipers will do that if you turn the switch off at the wrong time. It seems like I have to turn them off on the down stroke to avoid the problem. But then I have a 1971 240Z, with only two speeds. The 260Z is more sophisticated, giving it more failure modes.

After I replaced the wiper motor on my 73 my wipers did the same thing. Turns out I re-installed the linkage wrong. It has been about ten years and I don't recall specifically what I did to fix it, but you might look into the linkage.

I wonder if putting the slot on the end of the linkage that goes on the motor shaft 180 degrees out would cause the wipers to park pointing up?
