Hey everyone, I have a crazy question...there's a welder in my area who thinks he can replace the front fenders, doors, and roof (along with A and B pillars) of my Z (as the frame is still fine) IF I can find a doner car/parts...I found a couple, but one is a 260 and the other a 280. Does anyone know if these parts would be compatible with a 1972 240Z?

I can vouch that after 1976, 280Z doors will not work on anything earlier, without a lot of modification.

Also, only sheetmetal from the cowl foward will swap from a 2+2 to a 240Z.

Ahhh....the parts car is a 77 Datsun 280...dang. Any chance the roof/hatch would work? Or better yet...any ideas for finding another roof that will fit?

The roof and hatch would fit from a 77 280Z as long as it's not a 2+2.

Maybe go custom with short pillars and windshield go topless.

And, I may have found a 260 doner car...would that work better for body panels and roof? Crossing my fingers...
