240z External Hard drive..

Featured Replies

Was looking around the net for some new ideas of things to make on the cheap and came across this.

Thought I would share it.

A solid state drive attached under the chassis might even be better for those who think this is a good HD enclosure.

That's what I was thinking. That way, you wouldn't have to hack up the car. That being said, as much of a Datsun fan as I am, a Datsun bodied hard drive is really a bit much IMO.....

It's a starting point for ideas... perhaps a hollow base to enclose the drive, with the car on top. That way you'd be concealing the drive while displaying the Z on the desk or shelf. Hide the clutter with something cool.

what about the exhaust fumes!

could you plug the USB into the licence plate?

Like David said its a starting point with a cool looking en-closer for a hard drive. Its just a toy guys so its ok to mod it. LOL

As a mass produced gadget... maybe not, but as a place that you can store the back-up of your important files... pretty darn cool as an idea to build on.

Ha! Now this is a cool idea. :) Moved the idea into our new "Garage Hobbyist" forum... Who wants to start building and selling these?

It is a good idea. At first I thought, why? poo poo...but then I realized that something like this is what turns people into millionaires.

I would be the first one to congratulate the person who becomes a millionaire by combining diecast 240Zs and external hard drives.

I think the best way to end up with one million dollars from this idea would be to start with two million dollars and the desire to make money selling hard drives with Z enclosures. On the other hand.....Pet rocks shaped like Zs......

Dennis

Same way you make a million dollars in just about any form of racing.......
