Windshield trim color?

Featured Replies

I need to paint the metal trim piece that goes between the dash and the windshield. Is the stock color semi-gloss black?

You need to use flat black paint in that area to prevent glare when driving toward the sun. I believe that is the original color as well.

I agree with Arne on the satin black original finish. A matte or flat black will attract and hold dust, will show marks any time it is wiped down.

It depends on what kind of paint used. I have quality metal paint on mine and no dust, or marks. Smooth as a babys...you know.

I used Satin black. It looks like new. Don't forget to paint your screws and tighten the clips!

SEM 15013 Landau Black.... it matches the rest of the interiors satin black surfaces. It will spray well over Vinyl which your finishing piece should have a thin layer of.

Below is a link to a post of mine a couple of months back about favorite unconventional cosmetic usages. I used it on the panel and it works great. No glare, still as black as the day I painted it.
