HELP! Clutch grinding, very stiff 1st shift!

***UPDATE***

Problem fixed. I replaced the Slave cylinder, and after bleeding it...the problem was still there. Grinding reverse and tough 1st. After checking under the dash, and tightening the bolt (rod movement) like Curtis mentioned turned out to be the real issue. The bolt was loose, causing for little clutch movement with the full range push-down of the clutch. I think this was the problem all along.

The old slave was probably fine, but I'm keeping it for when I need it in the future. I guess the $17.00 posed for a good experience in learning about 280z clutch.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I'd be lost without ya's! :)

ok so i bought the z from mike wags and now the clutch in the car wont engage at all and when i put the car in first then start it with the clutch to the ground the car starts moving . tomorrow i'm checking for the same thing in the previous post . anyone know if this is a common problem with the bolt coming loose or possibly a clutch master cylinder failing ? and what are the symptoms of this ? occasionally before i replaced the ClutchMS cap it used to leak out the entire resevoir , i got no idea if these things may be related thanks a bunch for letting me bounce some things off you guys in advance
