Does the insulation on the fuel rail help avoid dreaded vapor lock ?

I want to take the insulation off, it looks like s**t. I don't think I need it living in MA, do I?

I took the insulation off of my 73 and I have not had any problems. I have had it off for a 240 with standard fuel pump setup and the 280 engine with and electric fuel pump. Good looking Z by the way. Jon
