unidentifiable wire in engine bay

Featured Replies

i just noticed this today.DSC04352.jpg

where are these wires supposed to be attached to? i looked around that area and could not find where it belongs.

What year car?

What colors are the wires?

Where do they join into the wiring harness?

Those look like the reverse switch wires. Are there female bullet connectors on the end? Do you have reverse lights?

its a '72. they are 2 red wires. as you can see, they go up and merge into that big thick wire located at the bottom of the pic.

Are you sure that they are red ? And not red with a black stripe? red with a black stripe is the backup light wires.

guys, come on. there is no flux capacitor in a 72 240z. be serious. i agree with the consensus on the reverse lights.

the flux capacitor didn't come until 1973 :)

Well, put her in reverse and see if the reverse lights work. Then we'll know if thats what it is or not.
