vin number

On the dash, driver's side.

Alternately, you can look at the info tag which should be in the driver's side door jam, or on the firewall near the brake booster.

Just for future reference, it was only American cars that had the VIN plate also on the dash. The tags are sometimes removed or illegible from age. However, all production S30s will have the VIN stamped on the firewall.

Alfa, you should have also mentioned that the door jam tag is also only found on the HLS models.

Look for a set of numbers after "HLS30" There's your VIN if you have a left-hand drive vehicle.

All cars - stamped in the firewall in the engine bay, just above the brake master vac. All cars - a plate screwed to the RF strut upright in the engine bay. This ID plate also has the engine serial number.

Can I play too?

Unless it turns out to be one of the factory race car 'shells that didn't. ;-)

Unless it is a 432 or 432-R, in which case it will be on the opposite side.

This ID plate also has the engine serial number.

Not always. Depended on the market and specific model.
