Posted April 26, 200619 yr comment_165096 I was able to get ahold of a set of the original ultra light racing wheels Datsun used on the 240Z when racing them back in the early 70s. Actually saw the in a picture in a manual from that era. I am having a hard time finding the shank type 12x1.25 lug nuts for them. They aree kinda like the old Crager mags with the round washer. Can I use the acorn style or does anyone know where i can order these from? Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19787-lug-nuts/ Share on other sites
April 26, 200619 yr comment_165099 If they used shank type (and back in the day, most did), you can NOT use acorn. But shank type lug nut should not be all that hard to find, unless they are a special length or diameter of shank. Can you post a picture of the wheel? And any data on the dimensions of the shank will help. Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/19787-lug-nuts/#findComment-165099 Share on other sites

April 26, 200619 yr comment_165105 I've never been to an auto parts store that didn't have shank style 12x1.25mm lug nuts. If you really can't find them you might try Schucks or NAPA or Autozone's websites. April 26, 200619 yr comment_165136 I got a set of shank M12x1.25 lugnuts at Autozone. Just make sure you measure the thickness of the wheel through the lug holes and get the right length nuts. They come in various lengths. You don't want them to be too long as they could bottom out before putting any clampload on the wheel. Also when you get them, always antiseize the outside of the shank before installing as you don't want a false torque reading from friction between the shank and the wheel hole. April 27, 200619 yr comment_165190 I saw your post on another site and replied there, I'll post it here too though. I got mine about two years ago at Autozone, they had at least two different shank lengths to choose from. Give them a shot.
