I didnt mean to say the car wasnt nice. I just meant my car is as nice or nicer and I would take less then that for mine if I was to sell it. On the other hand I dont want to sell mine so if I had to I would probably ask a high amount for mine as well. It is nice to see Zs bringing big money. I guess ive seen so many on e-bay that appear to be as nice for under $10,000 so I thought that sounded a little high, but as was said before its all in what the buyer will pay. I hope he does get $20,000 for his. Anyone interested in an orange early 74 with 84,000? $20,000 takes it .

North Western PA a place called Meadville. 90 miles north a Pittsburgh and 45 mile south of Erie. There is also a guy around here that drives a 240z and there is another 240z for sale about 20 miles north of me.

Mike what did $2000 get you? I swapped out my L26 because it was smoking and burning a lot of oil and I want to rebuild it then stick it back in. I was just wondering what all I could do for $2-2500. Thanks Chris

The guy that does our dent repair ( the dent wizard) on the lot I work for pulled one out of my Z and it has original paint. I not sure what process he uses but our guy uses bars and goes in from behind and pushes them out. Now there is another process where they use glue and suction cup thing that process sucks and might pull your paint off. Check out www.dentwizard.com

Mine doesnt work because my car will start if I reach in and turn the key from the outside of the car. Maybe remove the fuse that says interlock?

Can you get both? Then you have the transmission you want from the 280 and if its just floor boards maybe they can be repaired.Chris

In Pa most tint shop guys wont put anything on more then 40% tint and that is technically illeagal. You are wasteing your time to go to court better off paying the fine and forget about it. Just keep in mind that you may get pulled over again. In Pa a lot of officers will have you remove the tint altogether. Chris

The knob on the left side is a 4 way flasher switch. The paint on the dash still has crackle but you cant see it in the pictures. The rockers appear to be solid and overall the rust in my opinion is minimal.

I think the door issue is a hinge because it drops a little when you open it and you almost have to lift up on it to close it all the way.

Thanks for all the input guys. The car drives very well and seems to be tight. After talikng to Doug and the rest of you there are some things that need addressed. The car has been repainted not sure why but not from an accident. The miles are claimed to be documented so I believe them to be actual. This car has been in the area since very early on and our whole sale guy actually sold the car many years ago to the previous owner. The offer he refused was $5000 and he may just keep it if he doesnt get what he wants. Anyone that is interested let me know and I will do what I can to help you. Ya our local Vo-tech school does that for student projects. You have to be paitiant because its a "school project" and it takes sometime but its a cheap way to get a paint job.

Even early 260z bumpers (like mine) are smaller and look a little nicer then the big 280 bumpers. If you are doing a body kit some of them cover the bumpers anyway so maybe wait to see which one you will use. Here are a few ideas http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/7AP

If he is doing it himself doesnt he want to use an oil less compressor as well? I was always told to use oil less because the oil can get into the lines and mess the paint up. Just my 2 cents but I have painted using base coat clear coat and it isnt that hard to work with if you are paitiant. Chris

The plugs are brand new. I recently swapped out my L26 for an L28. When I had the L26 this happened until I replaced the pugs then it seemed to go away. Now when the mechanic swapped engines he used my pug wires from the L26 because they were fairly new and used brand new plugs. Is the plug wire the same for both engines? I will try the distruibuter this week. Iam sure the dist could stand to be replaced. What is a good upgrade for dist, ignition etc.Thanks Chris

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem and what to do. My car runs great except when I m in 3rd or 4th and get on it I have a miss or a hesitation. Its only when the rpms get up around 5000-5500. I think it might need the carbs tuned or perhaps a distributer. Where should I start to look? Thanks for the help. Chris

I had mine at the shop the other day and the guy I bought it from saw it and turned aound to check it out. He was the original owner and said he thought that was his old one even though it has different wheels he spotted it and new it was his old car. He hadnt seen it for awhile because his son who is my good friend had the car in his garage since probably 90-91.
