  1. Yeah, they gotta get approved before it's posted. Victor will send you an e-mail when they're posted. Be patient.
  2. Thanks guys!
  3. Let's not start that here. If you want to know the whole story, go to Skylinesdownunder and read. By illegal, I meant that they are bringing them in and not going through the DOT/EPA process.
  4. You've had it parked for 12 years. Sell it. There's a lot of guys here that would be interested.

Kent, Hahahahaha! You know what i mean. I'm just agreeing with Jim. Looks fishy to have non-car guys bidding on this one. And I'm kinda the Gothic Lolita type myself.

Doesn't look good. swa7123 and 2-spautomatic have ZERO feedback. gt_pulsar seems to have a thing for bondage and goth. andrew8717 is a Rolling Stones fan. themercyseat is a record collector. Only centralise has some credability of being interested in cars, having recently bought a car and car related items, but he doesn't look like a Datsun man. The reputation of the potential buyers seem to match that of the seller. My first rule of e-Bay: know your competition as well as your seller.

An old trick learned from a hotel housekeeper: coffee grounds. We had a room that smelled really bad after being previously occupied by a smoker. Called housekeeping, and they brought up some coffee grounds on a plate. The smell went away. Of course, the room smelled like coffee for a day or so, but better than cigarette smoke. I also tried it when my car got caught in a super typhoon (class 4 hurricane). My car was dry inside but smelled bad, probably because of the sea water the storm was sucking up and dumping as rain . . . the coffee grounds cleared up the stink in a week.
  8. Old ones, new ones, legal ones and illegal ones as well. Buyer beware. . . .
  9. There's lots of RHD cars in the States. Zs, Skylines, Minis, Rolls, Jags . . . You can even special order RHD cars from American manufacturers as well. What are you looking for?
  10. Brian, There's a 73 automatic floating around here being sold on e-Bay Aus. Why not a CG110 from Japan?

It's the other way around. You people don't know much about cars. That is genuine Naugahyde on those seats. Geez, must have had to kill at least 6 Naugas to do up that interior.
  12. Dome, Is your car a factory color? It looks to be Ivory rather than white. Thanks for the pics. Enjoyed them.
  13. What makes this car so rare is that fact that although it is a bonafide muscle car, it's an Oldsmobile. Olds, Buick and Cadillac made some really great cars back then, but they were at the top of the GM line. Your grandfathers and uncles drove them, not the young guys. So, the Olds 442 W-30 was still perceived as "your grandfather's car" even though grandpa would never have bought one. Remember their ad campaign of a few years back? "This is not your father's Olds"
  14. It reads "don't drop or throw." I guess "handle with care" would be the English equivalent. The dazed lion is probably the delivery company's or Nissan's symbol for what will happen if those instructions are not followed. The English equivalent would probably be those sillouettes of broken glass cups you sometimes find on boxes. The Japanese are all about cute symbols. I'd take those fenders to the office and hang 'em on my wall.
  15. I had a thought once . . . it's something I'd never like to experience again.
  16. Speaking off the cuff again. Gomen. I was generalizing and not thinking about the world market, just the US market. I definately must start to think globally.
  17. here's an interesting valve cover up on Yahoo Japan. http://page7.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g43294271
  18. Start by reading this thread. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21147 And consider taking someone knowlegable with you. I'm sure there's someone here close by that's willing to help.
  19. I, too am an end-of-the-boom Boomer, and while I love the classic muscle cars, I just can't see paying so much for them. Whereas the Z can still be had for a couple of thousand for a fixer-upper, a fixer-upper muscle car is going to cost way more. And finding all those missing muscle car parts that disappeared long ago will be like looking for hens' teeth. Zs only came in 1 type and parts, though getting difficult, are still out there. A '65 Mustang came in 15 types, I believe, and I don't think there's a lot of HiPo 289 engines lying around inside someone's barn. The only way I'll ever own a muscle car would be to get something that's not popular or "recognized" as a "true" muscle car - like a Buick GS 455 or a Dodge Dart 340 GT. FWIW
  20. Nice car. And welcome. Lots of good information here. But be careful of WIAI. The disorder can get you to the point where you never get to drive the car.
  21. Seller of #4112 updated listing to say that she had a collector of Z cars look at it and in his opinion, it was only good for parts. Makes it sound like you're some kind of personal friend of hers.
  22. Alan, Thanks for the tip. miles
  23. Pity the guy that buys the car. Whatever he pays . . . in 10 years, the value will drop like a rock to next-to-nothing. That's the way of the collector car world. A friend of mine had a barn full of collector cars and the told me that one of his cars, an Essex, had dropped $11,000.00 in value simply because people who fondly remembered the car were dying off at a rapid pace and the car was not an item of interest anymore. The same will happen with the muscle cars once the baby boomers start to decline. Save the Z by showing and educating the young 'uns the history and significance of the Z. It may be the only way to save the Z for the future. BTW, I don't think he's going to get the price he's looking for.
  24. Alan, 6 into 1? I've never seen such a thing until now. Price seems about right, though. Don't forget the "waiting period" of 45-60 days while they fab the unit from scratch because it's not a stock item. - - - - at Autobacks - - - - Japanese salesman: (sucking air through teeth) "Oh, your car too old. Must order first, then they make. It take 45 days minimum." Been there, done that.
