That is what color my 67 firebird is, and the engine also.

Take it to a good shop, they can digitally scan it or what ever the hell they do and get an exact match of what you want.

thats probably why i didnt' recognize that part.

where is this part located?? I took out the heaters in both my cars and maybe I have something laying around I can get to you.

In my newer camaro something similar happend to me. It started out running fine, but when I would get out of the car and my leg hit the side when i stepped out I would get one hell of a shock, like a very good static shock, then a few months later it started feeling like it would miss and lose power once inawhile especially when i stepped on it or went up hills, but barely noticeable, not noticible to anyone but me who drives it all the time. It did this off and on for weeks, but only for a few seconds and not real often. I even took it in to the mech and he ran test and drove it and him and my dad both said I was crazy and not really feeling anything. turns out on my way home from work one night it started losing, lots of power, my amps went to almost 0, then gauges and warning lights started going off like mad, i was on a long over pass and kept going to get off, a few seconds later the radio failed fallowed by lights, followed by warning lights, and the car was still running and the tach and speedo went, then power brakes and stearing. talk about a freaken mess!!. It would just click click click when you turned it over. Ended up being spark plug wires had been arching off each other and everything else, It fried both coils, and some other $^!#! Had to replace the coils, spark plugs/wires, and some computer junk. Total bill was like 6 hundy. If I were you I would take it in and have it looked at by someone that actually believes you before you end up spending and arm and a leg like me!!!

I feel your pain!!! I am the same way I LOVE cars so much that I own 4 and I'm only 20.. You guys may be the only ones who actually understand what I'm saying, I seriously will not be able to sleep for about 4 days because of that 300zx, it was great, but i'm going to keep the firebird!! And i to live off of about 5bucks worth of food a week just to support my habbits, thank god for water and the free pop corn where I work!!!

thanks guys I think your right!!! I love my firebird, and Bryan your right since i first posted this, ive been looking at prices and they are way cheaper than what he wants for it. But to be totally honest, that 1990 TT would kick the $^!# out of my firbird. I'm not going to lie that thing was fast and when it built boost it was unfreaken believably fast!!! I have riden in one faster car, but that is the fastest car I have ever driven. All i can say is WOW FUN FUN FUN!!!! thanks for the advise! anymore keep it coming!

i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place here guys. I today had the most fun I think i have ever had!!! I test drove a 1990 300zx twin turbo with 80,000 original miles. I fell in love, i kid you not it has been about 3 hours since i drove it and my body is still shaking!! The only way I could possibly get this car would be to trade or sell my first car i bought when i was 15 which is my 1967 firebird . I just can't do it though. PLEASE PLEASE tell me not to do this!! :stupid: just wanted to let you guys know that, was probably the coolest thing ever, corvettes have nothing on this car!!!! I envy all who own one!

I searched some stuff and it looks like in a previous discussion beandip said the engine ways 500lbs give or take. which I know I can get my v8 to darn close to that with 3 times the ponies.

I could scan some info from my JTR conversion manual that tells about somethings to save weight and the weights of other things but i'm not sure if that is legal so I guess you pm and we could "talk about it"!!!!

Do what I'm doing, I'm putting in a 350sbc v8. In the JTR conversion manual it explains things you can do to make the weight distribution the same or even lighter than the stock L28. i'm putting on alum. heads/ manifold, headers, alum. radiator, electric fans/fuelpump/waterpump, and moving the battery to the back, there are a few more but the JTR conversion is good because you can place the engine down low and closer to the firewall to get an excellent and lower center of gravity, and keep the weight distribution close to 50/50. I looked into alot of things and the L28 is nice but you can get a stock 350sbc and easily pump out 250-350hp and not pay a ton for the highperformace parts it would cost you in L28 parts. Don't get me wrong your still going to pay for the conversion and etc. but if your like me and want atleast 400hp-500hp it is way cheaper to do this with a v8.

That is good to hear that it will work out!! As far as the left lane driving, alot of people here in nebraska drive in the left passing lane bc it is alot smoother than the right lane. This makes for a pain in my arse when i'm trying to get someplace and everyone and their dog is in the way!!!

Move to Nebraska and put a massive smog producing V8 in that baby!!!
