Don't get mad. I was just assuming you were mocking the way some Arkansas rednecks are with your post. Spelling Arkansas with a "W" just seemed really redneck to me. Maybe its not? I've just never in my life seen it spelled that way.

Arkansaw? I think you just defeated the purpose of your post.
  4. Gawd, If only I had more than $500. Oh well, maybe someday.

Holy crap. I am at a loss for words here. Those have to be the worst cars I have ever seen in my life. I thought I had seen some pretty bad crap. What is with the dust pan front end on some of those things? scoop up your opponent?
  6. I just figured it was hard to get a good 260Z no matter what.

Alright, Cool. Thanks guys. I was just wondering if this thing was worth picking up, but I guess a new one is probably the best choice.

No one has any pics? Oh well. If you every get a chance to get a picture that would be great. I know I wasn't very descriptive of what this thing looks like.
  9. Mine leaks a little in that exact same spot. It still runs fine, but I am told its the head gasket. Sometimes it leaks really bad, but other days you don't even notice it.

Well, the long skinny bolt thing looks the same, but the other part is different. The thing from this car looks like a wide letter "H" with the far sides look something like little angle iron ends connected by a middle piece. Looks like it fastens across the top of the battery? I'm still looking for a pic.

Probably. Mines not rusty, just looks junky because its got the bungee chord holding in the battery. ghetto.

Hey everyone, I just need a real quick favor. When I got my 280Z, the battery did not have the little device to secure it and is being held in by a bun-gee chord. I found what I think is the little bracket on a 75 280Z in a salvage yard on the floor in the car. I want to get it, but I cannot find how this is used to secure the battery. Question one, is this little bracket going to be the same on my 77 as it is on this 75? And if its possible, could you post a picture of yours so I can see how this thing works. I've been looking online for some time now and cannot find a good pic of this battery area. My Haynes maual also says nothing. Thanks.

Here are a few shots of my seats. I used a quarter to help give you an idea of the gap size. Hope they arn't too dark, its an old camera.

Mine cost about $300 From Victoria British. They took a few hours to put on.

Yah, mine were the same kind. I just meant covers as in you don't have to replace all the foam. I had to rip the cloth off down to the big foam pieces inside. I also have a bigger gap too. When no one is sitting in it, you don't really notice it. When you push it down, maybe and inch and a half. I'll post a pic or 2 when i get out there.

I got a set like that for my 280. They really make the whole inside look a lot better and are worth it. Its a bit of a chore getting them on though, I remember It took two of us to get the new covers on my seats. They sure look good.

i know. As it turns out, before this thing broke it never did turn off the water anyway. That dubbed my AC about useless and when its 102 outside, having the windows down doesn't help much anyways. I was planning on just bypassing the entire heater system. just running the hose in a loop inside the engine bay. Will that be okay?

Will it hurt anything if i bypass this thing so i can drive the car until i get the part in? This is my daily driver, so i really kinda need the car.

So I thought my heater core broke, it was fine, so I figured it must be a hose under there. Just now i was able to see that the hoses were all fine as well. I have traced the leak down to the brass looking valve thingy (<-- Descriptive arn't I) that the hoses go into under the dash. Does anyone know what this thing is called exactly and where i could find one? 77 280Z with dealer installed AC.
  21. Well, on the way home today i found antifreeze pouring into the passenger side of my 280Z. Luckily i was able to pressurize the system and find it only appears to be a hose that leads to the heater core. Here is my question. How much of my dash am i going to have to tear apart to get up there so i can work. It seems to be up near the top where the hoses first come into the car. I thought i would ask before i go in ripping out a buch of stuff i don't really need to.
  22. When you get a Flowmaster 40 series for the 280Z, do you need to order a special one that is smaller so it fits like the original, or do you just go for the standard one? If you get a special one, could someone give me a link to the one I should get for the Z? I am getting a new exhaust put in soon since mine has rusted through in a few spots and was looking into getting the Flowmaster muffler.
  23. great pics, does anyone know what kind of wheels those are on that orange 240Z? 3rd pic down from top. I think it's a 240 anyways, I'm not as good at telling the 240s and 260s apart as i should be i guess.

Quick question. I am planning on replacing the freeze plug(s) on the back of my engine tommorrow. That being the ones behind the transmission. One is leaking. Does anyone know what size they are and how many are back there?

So im in the parking lot at school one day about to back out when this girl in the parking space behind me backs out. She keeps coming and coming and ends up backing into the side of my car. I get out just in time to watch her speed off. I get the tag # and report it to the school "police" Needless to say they do noting about it and how I am left to deal with this on my own since i only have liability insurance on the car. Now i need to find a way to get this fixed. Would it be best to take it to a body shop and have them do it, Bang it out with a hammer and bondo it? If you can see in the photo, there was some rust in there that cracked when she hit it, so that makes the repair a little more difficult. Anyone have a suggestion? Ive already got plans for her car, now i just need to get mine fixed
