  1. Cutlass, I have the Type "A" 4 speed. The original slave had the hole, which I copied on the new slave. Type "A"s do need the return spring. I wasn't interested in hunting all over creation for an early model slave. MSA had that one in stock...truthfully it was a gift. and it was physically the same, minus the spring hole.
  2. mgmoreau, Man, it's been a while since I posted in this thread! I can say that, although the slave cylinder I installed was for a later transmission, the pilot hole mod worked out (and is still working) beautifully! Good luck tonight!
  3. Point to Walter Moore. he he he
  4. Without getting into the politics of electric vehicles, you can blame Chevron (the holder of the majority of the metal-halide battery patents and technology) for the prices of such vehicles to be astronomical to ordinary citizens such as myself. IF Chevron would license the technologies the prices would come down. I can't wait for an innovative mind to come along and beat that bohemoth at its own game. The Tesla is just damn sexy compared to the "hybrid" and electric vehicles available today.
  5. I'd like to see the way Tesla will evolve. Like the Hudson, doomed by the Big 3, or accepted and mass produced despite the Big 3...?
  6. eh, you can keep the P-cars, thanks! ;o)

Beautiful. When you are finished with yours, would you care to visit the Gold Country and work on mine?
  8. Thanks, 240ZX. My point was that the OWNER of CZC asked us to exhibit a higher standard of protocol, and then you, mikewags, respond in a flippant and arrogant manner. Show some humility. If it is "common knowledge" that the members here are crass and base, this is the first time I have heard of it.
  9. Mikewags... You made me shake my head with disappointment with your statement. Did you stop to think about what you are sending, or was it an impulse send? Maybe I should think longer about chastizing you in a public forum, but I find your belligerence disturbing.
  10. Hey, man, it would be better for you if you left Riverside, and came back up here. Maybe even this weekend!
  11. It never fails. The day after I say I will be somewhere, my event coordinator (AKA: Wife) lets me know where I will be instead. I humbly regret to inform you that I will not make this weekend's get together on account of (and this is an important one) the celebration of my daughter's 2nd birthday. We will be at the Folsom Zoo. I must say, though, that everyone who is interested in the meet-and-greet is also invited to the zoo!
  12. This guy was having similar problems in Vallejo. Apparently, the Bay Area PoPo have a problem with classic vehicles!!! http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=135038
  13. Yes, the flipped rear A arm is normal. On my car, the driver side is smooth up, and the pass. side is opposite.
  14. Rob, I enjoyed meeting you all a couple months ago. I am planning on making it this month. I'll even try to remember to bring the door handle escutheons for you!
  15. Sure, throw Dave under the bus!! Ha ha. I had a similar issue where my car would idle fine and free rev forever, but upon acceleration under load, it would bog and sputter and die. I had the fuel tank boiled and lined, and hadn't had a problem since (well, besides running pig rich because I adjusted the carbs rich unknowingly counteracting the restriction from the tank)! Please mark me down as +1 for the Z Therapy video! While you are watching that video, be sure to save up the $600 or so for a completely reconditioned set of SUs from them!
  16. I had some difficulty in the ledge stripping, where the rubber held a "memory" shape due to the shipping procedure. The 3-M adhesive was not able to keep a portion of the top stripping held to the ledge. Even while the adhesive was tacky, the rubber wanted to pull up. It's too late for me now, but maybe you will have better luck and somehow remove the bend in your stripping. Hopefully the MSA stuff won't give you this headache. I was using the Precision 3 piece product. Good luck and keep us posted, please!

    WOAH....^^^^^^^^^^What was that, SPAMMER????
  18. If you request a 1-off sticker, it won't be cheap. Fun in my Z posted this link in the bumper sticker thread: http://www.customizedstickers.com/bumper-stickers.php?gclid=CMOh27_m55MCFQnIsgodIxopYw
  19. PM coming at you.
  20. Leather or not, those are NICE-looking seats. Are these seats a deal breaker? I have a set of original '72'/73 seats I could sell you .
  21. By the looks of things, a rototiller is the LAST thing your yard needs! Very nice work! What do you think you can turn that thing around for?
  22. Nope, not the Z. I have the 6 spoke mags waiting for the Z. It's the Wife's Cruiser. Apparently the wheel setback is wrong, and the PO put spacers on. I haven't noticed ANY vibration. It's just what every tech and owner of Big-O tell me every time we get tires/service.
  23. I have nothing more to offer this thread other than a question: Am I going to the right tire place? I use Big-O tires for replacements. One of my cars has slip on spacers (1/4"-3/8") on the front (drive) wheels, and every time I go in, I am told those spacers are detrimental to the performance of the car, and might even damage things. Are they blowing smoke up my a$$?

Hey Deedee! Welcome back! I hope life hasn't hurt too bad. I will be in El Cajon (Fletcher Parkway) for work next week, but I don't know if there are any clubs/members around. Have fun, and keep chattin!
  25. Well, got the retest results yesterday. Failed again. NO went from 2331 down to about 1300 (still too high). HCs went up about 21 points. I *think* the HCs are from the seafoam treatment not getting completely out of the system, but can't be sure. John, the owner, tells me the car hasn't driven that well for over 5 years, so I did something right, I guess. At least it's a step in the right direction. I feel bad, though, because they had to shell out another 80 bucks for a fail. I guess it's time to procure an ECU. Anyone here had any experience with "the ZX man" at ZXman(dot)com?
