You won't get much in the way of friendliness from officers in my town either. As for their job being "thankless", starting pay for a person fresh out of the police academy approaches $50K/yr. (USD)
  2. A recent issue of Racer magazine still had an advert from Sunoco listing several race fuels they supply. NASCAR still uses one of them.

What year Z is this on? My 72 only has one fusible link which connectsd to the starter.

ZHome lists Exterior AND Interior colors for 240Z's HERE But only Exterior colors for 260Z and 280Z's I don't recall seeing stripes like that in a 260Z, but I could be wrong.

so are we, that's why we encourage people to find the answers that have already been given 10,000 times rather than expect it to be given 10,001 times. Welcome anyway.
  7. Cracked or Warped cylinder head is one possibility Another possibility is the timing cover (where the water pump mounts to it). I've seen timing covers get so corroded that there is a hole in the chamber behind the water pump blades, which lets water into the area where the cam and crank gears/timing chain is located. ***are you sure it's not mixed water and oil from the first failure that you are still seeing?
  8. Adding another row to a radiator will move the surface of the radiator closer to your fan, so I'd find out why your fan kissed the existing radiator and fix that issue before installing a thicker radiator. There should be a good sized gap (around an inch if I recall) between the radiator and the fan Possible causes that I can think of: water pump (bearing bad, or broken shaft) fan clutch (bearings) radiator support pushed rearward due to accident damage

As far as I could tell from their website, it appears tha they are an American company. I'm kinda surprised at that, myself.

    bump for easter 2005
  11. .and the good shops are booked in advance because they are good. The cheap guy can fit you in right away because he doesn't have a loyal clientel, but he may not finish your work on time due to having to stop and fix someone else's car for the second time.
  12. Just because the average moron on the street doesn't know of a $2 bill, DOES NOT mean that it doesn't exist. Your statement "Such stuff from Mr. Scanlon that he doesn't even know there's no such thing as a $2 bill." was clearly stated and quite specific, and can only be taken one way......As a false statement, no matter what you meant to type. I believe that you'd find that if no one asked those questions..............no one will miss them. There is a reason no one else asks them. They are mostly LAME. EDIT, I forgot to mention, respond only for your own benefit. I'm unsubscribing from this thread. Over and OUT!
  13. Sigh, I.....................(oh nevermind, like many of you, I've tried....)

From my experience (YMMV) As nice a having a wide yard is, having a wide garage is better (to a point) for 2 reasons: 1. It makes it easier to work on cars inside the garage. 2. Less yard maintenance (mowing, weeding, etc) When i had a 3 car garage, I found it to be ideal for parking one car (transportation), and doing a major rebuild on another car (room to work on it, parts storage, good size work benches, shelves, etc.) For me, I'd go for more Width over more Depth almost anyday. More height is also preferable
  15. No, a link to it was posted on this site a long time ago. If you'll notice, it came from an Australian website (as he mentioned). Since there aren't too many of these L6 specific programs out there, IMO it's likely that it MAY be the one he was using. (we'll never know unless he answers your query)
  16. Sorry, but that has got to be the most lame suggestion I've heard in a long time. :stupid" If this is to be done, just make sure the round is pointing toward the person who installed it. That way we can read about him in the Darwin Awards.

It worked fine when I posted it a year ago. Through the magic of the internet, some threads have a way of disappearing over time. Oh well, we'll survive without it.
  18. Guess so. Be forewarned, old age is not for sissys.
  19. Yes, but is this one any good? The seller says it is, but that's his job. It could be a P.O.S. Anyone going to volunteer to test one?
  20. There is no doubt that proper grounding is important, but IMO, if the connectors and grounds built into the system by Nissan are properly maintained (meaning they are kept clean and uncorroded, and secure), then this product is of minimal value. I make it a point to not do business with eBay sellers who charge shipping costs that are easily double what they should be. I expect shipping fees to be reasonably close to the actual cost. Profit should be built into the price of the product. That's just the way I do business.
  21. OK. I was mentioning the Crane system because I had major problems like you are describing, with the Crane XR700 in my car being the cause. It would DIE on the freeway, in intersections, everywhere. Then it would start up again about10 minutes later. It was the Power transister in the Crane Ignition module.
  22. Do you have the normal 240Z points type distributor in the car? No Mods (like adding the Crane XR700 Ignition for instance)?
  23. Price is definitely good. I'd be curious how it performs as well. Mast is only 31", I thought that 39" was optimum for FM reception. Anyone know for sure? He says it operates w/ radio On/Off switch. Not sure if that is good or bad. What if you have a cassette or CD player? Does it rise when you play, CD/cassette?

Wonder if that hat is available in the right size for Will's son? :nervous:
