  2. well, that depends on what height gasket i'm using...hence the thread.
  3. Basically Im trying to find out weather or not it is thinner or thicker than a felpro gasket, as everyone I know of who runs a similar setup to mine (well, soon to be..) runs a felpro (which I think is 0.8mm...)

  9. I helped Deus Ex put the cam in yesterday, and by the looks of wear pattern on the rocker arm pads (worn towards the lash pad on all of them) the ratio might be slightly higher. It already had bigger lash pads in it so we kept them there. The standard springs are not binding so Im guessing that the valve lift won't be much over .460".

  15. I'm about to put my engine together, R30 E88 head with F54 and the the standard FI. If the E88 chambers are around 40cc (as JMT240KGTR (IIRC) measured them at) then I would be getting around 10.7:1 compression with my flattops (according to Lengine). I wonder how Optimax (98 octane) would handle that.... I really dont want to have to put my dished pistons back in as I would only be getting about 8.7:1 I should probably buy a burrette...
  16. zr240, I know what you mean. I went to the big car parts swap thing that they have at Big Site in Odaiba, so much good stuff there, but only so much you can carry! I maanged to lug a set of triple Mikuni's all the way back on a crowded train though !
  17. Just wondering what the codes were for the 5spds that we got here in Australia. I am pretty sure the two 5spds we got were the FS5C71B and the FS5C71A...just can't remember which was which Are they the boxes that we got ? Ray
  18. I'll take try and put some pics up tonight. Um, to be quite honest I'm not really sure what I need at the moment in terms of zed parts. Anything I needed would really only be spares I'm thinking. I'm in the middle of putting an FI L28 in the 260...and I am missing a surge tank and a rising rate fuel regulator might even be handy. Depends on how much its worth to you, a strut brace might be handy, harnesses, anything that I might actually use :-) Ray
  19. I have a modified GTR plenum in the garage. It has had injector boss' welded in above the runners (obviously it wasn't previously on a GTR). If anyone wants it I'm willing to swap it for some Z parts or something elese I can use (i.e a surge tank). Im in brissy. Ray PS doug, dont bother replying with some smart arse remark....just put the engine back in the 2 + 2.....mmmkay :classic:

  21. heh, umm, Im currently putting in a L28E into my 260z. I was missing a couple of bits from it so I went and bought a few bits from a 280zx which I didnt have. I have attached a picture of one of the things I picked up, and Im having trouble figuring out what it actually is....any ideas ?? Ray
  22. Thanks guys, and thanks Deaus !! I was the one having the issue, and yep, that is the "pipe" which I broke. I was really starting to worry, as although I couldnt see any obvious purpose for em, I had just cleaned and painted and replaced the welsh plugs on the block and didnt want to have to start again.
