Do you happen to know what kind of hard drive it is? (I.E. - Western Digital, Seagate, Maxtor) Find out what kind of hard drive it is and you can download a diagnostic disk on a friends computer. Run the diagnostic disk on the hard drive and it will confirm the errors on the hard drive. (Most of them are self booting, so you can run it without the OS being up and running) More than likely it will tell you that you have some bad sectors...etc...etc. If you format the hard drive you "Will lose all data on the drive". Nowdays hard drives are pretty cheap...you may want to spring for a new hard drive in the mean time, keep the other one around until you get the new one loaded with the OS and see what you can recover from the old drive. Sort of a "Best of both worlds" type of thing. Let me know if you need more info...etc...etc webdawg1
  2. Well...Duh...........EVERYWHERE !!! Well except the kitchen......Well maybe sometimes.....Only if they (The parts) have been blasted and are in zip-lock bags waiting to be painted...etc...etc. I can even get away with it sometimes....he he. webdawg1

  4. Here's another spreadsheet I currently have done that can be posted for general use by all concerned....Remember to make any changes to the spreadsheet(s) based on your model year (I.E. - 240, 260, 280) as there will be "some" differences between model years...but for the most part should be pretty accurate...It also helps if you have the Z Microfiche CD-Rom so you'll know what to change in the various spreadsheets for your model year... webdawg1 Fiche 37-1 Air Cleaner L28E (From Dec 74').xls

Sort of looks like a variant of the Matt Harwood rotisserie. Have included the plans if you want to compare the two side by side. From a (2) engine stand rotisserie point of view.... webdawg1 Rotisserie(rev.2).pdf

You should be able to get them from just about any Nissan dealer...Left shim P/N: 41085-E4100 Right shim P/N: 41084-E4100. You also might try the following url: http://www.nissanparts.cc Have enclosed a picture as well in case you need to show the parts person what they look like...otherwise they kind of look at you like a deer when you shine your headlights in it's eyes...and say something like "Say What???" webdawg1 Anti-Squeal Shims.bmp
  19. How hard would it be to make an interactive display for the various Z types showing the various colors, wheel types, various MSA kits, with bumpers, no bumpers...etc...etc. Like when you go to the GMC website (GMC fan) where you spec out and build your own truck...you pick the color, pick the rims you want, engine...etc...etc. Say someone wanted to see what a certain color looked like with say... the "Gunmetal" Panasport rims and blacked out window trim and a MSA kit all rolled into one...they could then play around (Mix and Match) with the various aspects of the Z until they found something they "really really" liked and then run with it...Just a thought... webdawg1
  20. Anyone out there have any plans on rebuilding/refurbishing the "A/C Idler Pulley" with a new bearing?? (Squeaking badly, Real loud during operation...etc...etc) If so I ran across a local source in my hometown (Columbus, GA) that has the bearings. Took the old idler pulley in to these guys and within about 4-5 minutes I had a brand new bearing to go in that puppy. Did some looking around in the microfiche before I went in to talk to these guys and it looks like the same pulley was used starting approx. Aug '73 (Fiche 59-12, Item #161) thru approx.1978. (Fiche 24-2 From Dec '74, Item #29) Have included a picture so everyone knows which pully I'm making reference to. Thinking about doing a "How-To" if anybody's interested...Bearing was pretty reasonable...about $6.83 each...If anyone wants the P/N or their contact info let me know... webdawg1

  25. Dupli-Color ENGINE ENAMEL #DE 1631 Chrysler Blue. http://www.duplicolor.com The above mentioned engine enamel would be "Very" near , but not "Exactly" the same. Above url for Duplicolor should give you a pretty good idea what it looks like. You would have to compare the POR-15 color chips to the Duplicolor #DE 1631 color chips to see which one will work for you... webdawg1
