Heater Fan Wailing Noise
Not funny Steve. My first beloved Zed was a flop house to the freeway rats next to where I grow up. For the rest of my Coco brown speed machines life it smelled of damp rat hair & bleech. Nice avitar Steve, GeeeZZZZZ. Bill next week I will hang out in the breakers. So i'll let you know what I find. But I still think we should maybe start a thread on the replacement in a different forum. Maybe electrical? Regardless i'll post my findings here to start with. Later. :devious:

Heater Fan Wailing Noise
Thousand pardons BillD. I was going off the top of my head. Glad you found it. Good for me you posted the link. The added speed of the blower is also very cool as an upgrade. That's the second reason I will be doing this to my poor old Z. Whata' say to post your findings and progress, as I will also. Maybe we should start a new thread in the most appropriate forum? Let me know. :devious:

Engine sizes
hey speedyblue WHICH 350 IS ALL ALLOY? Not just any one! And i'm sorry but V8 chevy's are very old tech. They are barely on fourth gen V8's and those are no longer 5.7L. Let's see twp vlaves per slug, cam in block, no variable cam timming, no OHC or DOHC. And 450 to 500 HP AT the Wheels is very easy to reach, just not as cheap or easy as you make it sound. Any chevy all aluminum are not (vette engines are ranging from $2500 and up+harness & ECM) will set lower and farther back in the Z. Giving it better weight distribution. And only about a hundred pounds in penalties. It would actually be much easier to "charge" or "squezz" the Mouse motor than to rip it about to build it up. The TH350 fits and the 700R4 can also be used. Or other high end sticks 5/6 speed can also be used with fabrication and some work. Any thing in these mentioned combos will all require WORK. But there are many kits and references out there now for 240Zdragon72 to use. 350/383 4V 700R4 R200 would be the most simple. O yeah fats out back! :devious: Frank13

BillD search the forums under interior/fan, blower. Theres a thread about using a Honda civic blower motor that sounds like it fits almost perfect. Minor modification. Same set up two wire. I am planning to do just this mod to my Z. :devious: . O yeah thanks to the member who posted that thread. Don't remeber your name right off the top of my head. :devious:

75' 280z wont start
First pull all the plugs back out, pull off the air filter and or intake pipe to let the gas dry out. Disarm your ignition so that it WILL NOT FIRE (pull power lead to the coil). Crank engine over. WITH THE PLUGS OUT! Did any gas come shooting out? Let everything dry out real nice like. Clean up your plugs. Check out your AirFlow meter to make sure it's not got any visable damage. If it is also full of fuel residue Carefully pull out of intake track and allow to dry. Reassemble. Crank over, do not pump gas pedal. What happened? :devious:

Stick Shifter Length
Damn good idea that everybody keep a set of bushings around. Stock rubber or solid. When ever the time comes that that center console comes out for what ever reason change 'em. Sorta like cheap insurance for that one really bad misshift at redline! . Also I would like to suggest the hair pin that holds the "B" type stick in be replaced WITH A NEW one. Just more cheap insurance. I actually had my shifter come through the boot in my hand while trying to shift. Getting on the freeway, comeing from Motorsport! Man I wish I had a picture of my Girlfriend's face that day!!! :devious:

Looks like a ground wire but not sure
Does the wire in question look to have ever had any type of insulation covering it? Does it have round terminals at the ends, and are these enda attached to any bare metal of the block, head, or intake. And is the other end attached to the bulkhead(firewall), via a screw or bolt. If so it is a ground. It sounds like a common bare ground strap. Grey/silver fine strands of wire "braded" end to end? If it is not frayed or incomplete just leave it be. Computer controlled cars need these. If it is tore up replace it. You will want to checke the points of it's attachments also. Make sure they are clean and the face of the terminals and retaining srews/ bolts/nuts are clean and making good clean contact. :devious: .

Com' on Carl the floats last a whole3-4 days. Victor only one day. I remeber people being out there 1 to 2 weeks before. In the freaken cold and rain. Rick it looks real nice, and it is. IF you like the freezing cold, wet, damp cement and a billion others pushing & talking all around you. By the way for 2 days after the parade they display the floats at a near by park. :devious: .

Makeover for Saddam Hussain
Wouldn't it be a HELL of a lot funnier if they were holding a plastic bag around his head while arse rapping him??? Or is that only haha funny to me??? :devious:. Fellow members that might sound a tad bit bad, But my brother was in the service in Desert Storm. And I have many friends that have and still are serving this country for us, that should not have to do or see the things they did (do) because of such people of the likes of this butcher. I know a very young (just turned 21) Marine, who just did 9 months in Iraq, to get a month off to go back to do another 9 months. God Bless Mando. If any of you guy's drink MGD drink one for him next time.

Stich welded shell
Gav look at the welds. It's not one long weld. Where you pool the liquid metal and push it and repeat till the end of the weld. Stitch welds are just like a seam on your jeans, stitched.

Trail Fit 1
nixcars, maybe it's been done often enough for you guys but over here in the states we don't get any RB's. Got lots of SR20's. I have often thought about that swap, mostly for the MPFI. Small, light, Nissan strong. But hey if you Aussie's don't want your RB's send them my way. I'll send SR20's day and night in return.

Me??? Not at all. I really feel these two places have good Customer relation skills. When I first found Modern Motorsports Ltd. I sent an email question. Ross replied within 2 days. The last time I sent an email up there, I recieved a reply same night. And it was a sunday. Last a emailed Dave at ArizonaZcar, he also replied the same day. For information based email not just a problem or order type thing, same day replies go a very Looonnngggggg way to get my hard earned cash. Brsides have you seen the stuff these guy's crank out. I wish I had the internet 10 years ago when i'd have 3 or 4 Z's around the house and burn money to lite midnight BBQ's. Want me to represent you Michael??? :devious: .

Custom Wiring Harnesses
The ORIGINAL DATSUN 240Z was not fuel injected nor did they have electronic ignition. Jeez! Not everybody drives 280's. I thought this site was more for the 240Z. If you had a 240 before, then went and bought something that came after I guess that's cool. But when always making refrences to the 280Z/ZX models when talking about the 240 model, IMO I think it throws the thread off into a little chaos. :devious: Did you even read the thread from the start???

Air Cleaner Color
Carl & Mike, i'll buy that. That's more reasonable. The A/C system I knew about. They never looked right. Inside or out. Western? I have a set of Western "Cyclones" I believe they were called. 14" Mags with lots of skinny vanes. Very, Very light for the time. :devious:
