  2. Just thought some people might be interested. I am currently on work experiance at MTU Detroit Deisel in West Aust. and the other day three of these engines came(via truck) in followed buy a huge crane! Im ot too sure on the specs of them but they are huge! Over 3000hp! i think 8000cc per cylinder!!! Twin turbo V20's i think!
  3. Well that may seem nice as a holiday type place but it is probably pretty boring unless your into that kind of thing. Remember Its summer down here and a 30 degrese C days are common, no-one would want to be in a dead country town sifting mud tru a sive in 30 degrese!(86F) Plus, Billcapp, how do u know all of this? Cheer'z'
  4. Isn't amazing how the words of engine parts change so much between countries... Oil Pan in America- Sump in Australia Valve cover in America- Rocker cover in Australia My dad has a workshop manual for an old british bike(BSA i think) and it has all of the American->British termanology... pretty funny some of them! Cheer'z'
  5. What? Mexicans? Aztecs? I dont know of any red-necks that live in SA... I wonder if the Aztec priamids are still there... ... Why would I know whats happening ova east as we call it! I only replied becouse I couldn't think of anything else to post. :stupid: + Perth is ages away from the south! And I was serious... u do sound like Americans! :stupid: Why dont u look on the Victorian/Tassie/NSW state websites? Or just do what I do when I go into Perth(the CBD) I just walk around 'till I get lost then catch a CAT bus (free buses that run around the CBD) back to the trainstation! Thats always fun! :stupid: Cheer'z'
  6. Ask the guy your getting it off to start it. If it doesn't go, dont buy it!
  7. geez the writer of the story goes on a bit doesnt he? Beautiful car. A pitty they didnt put the full feature on the net.
  8. well i think they are exactly the same. I agree though, the late bumper uprights are ugly... If your gonna change the carbs etc. I wouldnt worry about the bumpers too much coz if they are different its just a simple bracket you could probly make yourself. Cheers Chris Beattie
  9. he he... southeners... you sound like your American.
  10. done already :stupid: here ya go, i got the pic offa' the link on your signature!
  11. do you have a pic of your "Western Hurricane Wheels". coz I can hop on paintshop and pop the "Iron Cross" wheels on your Z if ya want. Just as another view... Wasn't the Iron cross a Nazi thing in WW2? A medal? mybe there were nazis in the Datsun factory. A german did design it...:stupid: Cheers Chris Beattie
  12. Why would you want to put carbs on a fuel injected engine? All of the L28s came out fuel injected... Cheers Chris Beattie
  13. Well our garage is just a standard two car garage. Me and dad used it to fix an old triumph 2.5 we have so its a good size.(it had a blown head gasgit). At the moment (as always) its full of bikes. (It does get hot but we just use a pedastool fan and a indoor fan stuck to the roof). We've had sugestions to put one of those whirly things on the roof. Apparently their really good at removing the hot air. Anyhoo... ive included a pic of our shed. It looks small in the pic. on the wall with the window , those shelves are about 1.5 meters from the wall. and a computer is on a desk in there.(like a mini office )
  14. When I first saw it i thought... "thats a 120Y coupe!" coz I recon thats what it is. The 120Y could have been "discontinued" in S.Africa so Nissan had to make a new model with the problems fixed, and as a popularity thing they called it a Z. Or it could of all been a populaarity thing... I donno. The web site even says "Also known as 120Y or B210" so... And the guy's e-mail is South African And to all Americans... Not every car in the world was brung out in America! and Mike Novak, 120Y's arn't rare in Aust. Their everywhere! Cheers Chris Beattie
  15. sorry, this got posted twice! (ive shortened this one) :stupid:
  16. Well the 240z and 280z bodys are the same. The Americans just wanted biger bumpers. God knows why... I dont see any problem, you'll just have to lightly placing the bumpers on to see if they fit coz u said u have everything and just want to know where to start :stupid: Cheers Chris Beattie
  17. I recon just goto some motor carpet makers and if your lucky they might just have the template. you never know and it doesnt hurt to try! :stupid: Cheers Chris Beattie
  18. Rick likes it so much coz in Australia, we dont have a spontainious event for these kind of things and the floats people do make are pretty shitty... and if we do make one out of indovidual flowers it would just wilt after 1 hour in the sun. + in Australia(WA) only parents and their kids go... :stupid: Cheers Chris Beattie
  19. got some of that... its pretty crappy though, it doesnt set. Maybe my tube is too old I dont think it will hold the heat though... Cheers Chris Beattie
  20. datto_240z replied to Z-point's topic in Funnybone
yeh, it didnt work for me either, i couldnt even "save target to file"... Cheers Chris Beattie
  21. Maybe i explained it wrong, there is a small cylender that comes out of the bottom of the engine that you screw onto(via chassis). That whole cylender came off. This JB weld sounds perfect but i dont know if any exists in Australia... Cheers Chris Beattie
  22. Ben, You say a 240z would be left in the dust of an E-type Jag. The 240z's performace spec.'s are better, if anything, then the E-types. 1969 240z 1969 E-Type coupe Top spd. 201km/ph 191km/ph 0-100km/h 8sec 8sec not very convincing but i couldn't find the 240z's 1/4 mile. :tapemouth Cheers Chris Beattie
