  2. No problem, figured that is what you did:knockedou
  3. I am a Nikon man myself, but I would go with the 30D camera but I would stick with the basic lens until I found I needed it
  4. UPDATE: www.zdayzevents.com just posted the first set of pics from Zdayz 2006. This first set is of the winners of the car show w/ pics of the winning car.

Not a problem. As far as worth goes...it is matter of what is it worth to you. Having said that...I have seen some basket cases brought back from the dead, and it being a 260....1 year prod run for the US market..makes it a little rare. If floors and floor rails are all it needs rust wide, i say go for it.

  7. Yes, quite a few Upstate guys there. Met the Higginbotham's there (they took 2nd place for modified 1st gen) and followed them back to Anderson, SC to spend some time with my Dad before heading home. Great folks, hopefully the Army will let me do my recruiting Duty in Upstate SC. God I miss the people and the mountains....would be nice to come home for a change (read anywhere in the South).
  8. Actually I think her name was Sarah, and she was fom Millbrook, AL...no wait....That would be my ex-wife....no clue bout the doll.
  9. Widget777, I see you are in Gig Harbor. If you have any tech or mechanic needs, see Doug @ Fairlady Motors in Tacoma. www.fairladymotors.com Tell him Russell from the Army sent you. BTW he may be able to help you find a good Z. Shoot, he may have one to sell you....dont really know what he is up to these days, have not seen him in about a year.
  10. Ditto on the damper. Get it installed.
  11. Agreed....I am considering this myself due to the expansion of wires and fuses and relays I keep trying to stuff in there. Thought about having a new one made, but slightly larger to accomodate all the extra stuff I have.
  12. FWIW: You can also use the s12+8 caliper from the 1986 (only 1986) Toyota 4x4 PU. Use the same spacer for the s12w, Ross @ www.modernmotorsports.com has them, and the same 84-85 NA Z31 rotor. This gives you a 4piston setup, albiet smaller secondary piston, but weighs a little less and is more than effective. BTW the 86 toy 4x4 caliper is cheaper including core charge than the later ones if cost is a concern, and Axxis Metal Master pads are available for this caliper.
  13. Pic 1 is the proper way to install them, washers included. I dont see the steel sleeve in your photos, hope you still got them??
  14. My Webers do the same thing, and it is just one barrel of one carb. Only does it cold at idle. The last Z with webers I had did it all the time on all 6 throats.
  15. I still stand by what I said earlier, but to rule anything out....spray some starting fluid around the throttle shafts while it is running. If you have a vacuum leak this will cause the rpm to increase.
  16. I am not sure, as I have never tried to install a tach that did not "plug and play" Try finding a tach that will plug and play, call around to different Z shops, see if any have a used tach lying around.
  17. Yes, this can happen when the ambient conditions are "just right"
  18. Hella or Cibie', my nod goes to Cibie' if you can find them....some of the miata and alfa sites sell them
  19. Thanks. Alex had a complete blast, we will be there for sure in the coming years. Funny thing is, he started telling folks that the car was his, so I promptly turned to E. Radatz and asked him to look for me another one:cross-eye
  20. Nope, if it is off a later model car it is not without some wiring modification. Best bet is to find another tach, or double check all your wiring per the factory diagram. Make sure all your connections are clean etc. New tachs can still be found, but better make sure that is the problem first.
  21. Actually both wrecks were not on the Dragon. The 300zx was Saturday morning on the access road (NC28) from Fontana Village to US 129. He was about 1mi from the village and he swerved to miss a Crotch Rocket rider who was in his lane. More damage was done to the car getting it out than going in. I saw it right after it happened. The 350 happened on Wed I think...dont know the full details.
  22. I may have to get it for my iPod
  23. There are two wing nuts that attach the tach to the dash, and of course the wiring harnes stuff. Remove the nuts, then push the tach thru the opening (toward the driver).
  24. The tach used in the 240 is of an induction loop type. That is, the power comes from the ignition switch, thru the tach, and powers the coil. The tach "reads" the inductive pulses created by the coil firing. Easiest way to see if it works, just replace the old with the new....takes about 15min to do.
  25. 69-74.5 so all 240s and the thin bumper 260
