  1. I've had a lot of fun in Cartersville. One of my best friends had a Bar B Q restaurant across from Cracker Barrel right before I-75 back in '98 &'99, it was an old Pizza Hut building. He sold it and the new owner ran it into the ground, now we've got the pit and some other stuff at his restaurant here in town. Pruett's Bar B Q. Lot's of pretty Nurses in Cartersville back then and I'm sure they're even prettier now. I live 2 blocks from HWY 411 and could get to his apartment in a little over an hour. Welcome aboard, we're all in the same boat or Z car.
  2. I like that she doesn't let her hair get in the way. :embarrass:
  3. That's good, doing something right takes me forever. 3 months to rebuild my motor, 2 months of reading and collecting parts then 1 month putting them to use. I've got a '77 Z and the motors aren't any different so maybe I could help on the simple stuff. Theirs a way to check all your vacuum at once thanks to a member here, Fastwoman. Google "280z yogurt cup test" here it is Google That sounds like why it's dying out. Or maybe the fuel filter is clogged? Lots of possibilities, but just take your time you've got a year to get it right. Check out this page too, thanks to another member Blue. Tech Tips Keep reading!
  4. Would that work in the opposite way? Girlfriends birthday is soon.
  5. I worked on my Camry this morning, it's 12 years old, everything I touched cracked and crumbled. Now the fun part. I'm going for a drive in the 240, damn a 4 cyl.
  6. That show Gas Monkey has me thinking of just a clear matte coat, they do a lot of that. My 280 has the original paint from '77 I think, what's left of it after fading, and plenty of patina from age. I would be happy with the protection until I can afford the repaint.
  7. Boy oh boy that makes my day. Same problem here too and was on my short list, to do very soon. Mine starts "hopping" when I try to leave out easy from my driveway.
  8. Dang them Doobie Brothers and they China Grove!
  9. Does it come packed with clowns?
  10. Should we be happy or sad? Cleaned up those wheels might fetch $200 per set. What size sneakers?
  11. Good read Datsun L-series ZCAR engine modifications
  12. Beautiful photos of your car! Sometime in the future I hope I can buff mine, now it just tears up the rags.
  13. My dog made something similar to that this morning.
  14. Me too. Adding attachments now takes forever, they just won't show up in my File Upload Manager. I end up using the Basic Up Loader option.
  15. Here's what I've come up with. Yeah it's a toilet flapper but it's new.
  16. Glad you got it back running. You mentioned something about your mechanic doing some electrical tweaking, maybe he burnt it by accident. You might want to turn on everything else and make sure you have all your accessories, lights and wipers etc.
  17. I knew I'd read this Tech Tip for the fan clutch but had trouble remembering the wording of the site, not atlanticz.com. 240z 260z 280z 280zx Datsun Fan Clutch Rebuild
  18. That looks like a Napa fuel filter to me, isn't that what it says on the side? You may have blown a fuse for the fuel pump, hopefully that is, instead of burning it up. Can you straight wire 12 volts to the pump and listen for the whirling sound? or pull the out bound hose to the carbs and see if it flows fuel out into a jar or something. If it had plenty of gas in the tank I wouldn't think leaving the key on would burn it. My '72 has a mechanical pump on the front passenger's side of the valve cover. They don't have pumps in the tank.
  19. Your friend should at least keep your cup full for all the work your doing, I would.
  20. One easy thing to do and avoid gunking up your fuel system is to put in a fuel filter between the tank and fuel pump. Also put in a new OE one up front in the engine bay, behind and to the right of the radiator on the passenger's side firewall. If it's been sitting a long time you should drain the old gas before trying to start it. Here's some things to look at: Z Car Tech Tips Fram G3 Filter Installation Z Tech Tips Ball and Socket Compression Rod (AtlanticZ.ca) EDIT: That last link shows up as "ball and socket compression rod" but it is actually about removing the gas tank and shows how to drain the fuel.
  21. Aren't the clutches filled with grease or some type of oil? If it spins less freely when it's hot it's doing the opposite of what it is supposed to do, right?
