That could snag some of Philip's Atlantic Ocean telecom lines! Young grasshopper wouldn't be able to lathe on, my brother.

Can't get timing to less than 25 degrees?

Take the cap off and look for ball bearings, usually stuck to this... The back side of the stator is made from a brittle magnetic substance that can break easily. Just snug the screws.

Richard Pryor wrote a few shows, I bet they were go over the "lines".

		Picked up some brass rod..

I'm just a guy with a toothbrush but Blue makes an awful sweet looking latte. Telecom guy, mechanic and a barista. What's next?

Lathe, latte, we all like them both. Get jacked up on some lattes and turn out some fine emulsion tubes.

Is that new toy/lathe? Congratulations, it looks nice and a lot smaller than the old ones. I can think of some things I'd like to turn out but most likely cheaper at the belt buckle shop.

restore ugly valve cover (mistake to media blast?)

I'm at the end of my free living rope, I'm about to break down and get a full time jay-oh-bee, jobby job. Anybody willing to hire a mid life hippy with a very low desire to work?

I agree with Captain Anonymous, leave it original unless it's just too bad that you'll lose money. My .02$

Can't get timing to less than 25 degrees?

When you put the Zx distributor on you may have that plate upside down? I always plug the hose that connects to the distributor with a golf tee, leaving it hooked up at the front carb. I have mine at 17 degrees at idle and 34 at 3,000 rpms. It takes a special timing light though, I guess it's called full advance mode but you run it up to 3 grand and the notch will hit on zero. This may be of some help? http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/distributor/index.html

You guys are lucky. Here's my sleep mate but I wouldn't trade him for nothing. Came into the world alone and I'll go out alone. But I do like kids, y'all's kids.

If you're going to sale it go with the OE single stage. My '72 has the original paint on it still. After a good cut and buff it looks like new.

		1970 249Z Brake Booster

When I bought mine it had been sitting so long after I got it running good the brakes went bad one part at a time. I put new calipers and vented rotors, ceramic pads then the booster took a dump. About a year later the master cylinder started leaking. Now I have all new parts and it stops good with no squealing. Advance has a reman 6" for $100, go to retailmenot.com and get a 30% coupon code, knocks it down to around $70. It's unfinished so you'll have to paint it and send the old one back for the core charge. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web/OrderDisplayPendingView?catalogId=10051&langId=-1&orderId=85876787&storeId=10151&krypto=3eNNGJCm7UNRQTpdk1uIzG9TdSGFjYMy3fZFeRjRwvrlS18yvNJdwImfh20F6UkIDdmuTUePcwIOzIZWk%2Fn2huKpAbUrG5cf5ZS2GJR9mRS%2Bu8qPYxxONY1p5lyGw2exaBFopnjZzfSLonCAZ0%2F6ivS%2FhrWSo7T8%2B6dA5PxQyuk6i4mNHkjAzmRoGhwAgO55AFDTMysYFoEnPwNAybrrAg%3D%3D

Learned something new today, thank you! I never knew that's what that one did. It seems they all have that hole? Here's those pictures I mentioned earlier. Before and after and apparently I used sand. That was many brain cells ago.

I use Eastwood high heat clear matte on all my bead blasted aluminum. So far no yellowing after six years.

Not that I'm aware of. That's the cover that was on the '77 when I bought it. I thought they were plug wire holders but you're probably right. I have a collection of covers and will look for differences in the morning. Also can post more pics of my blasting that are on my laptop. I don't remember fingerprints, the clear matte blended everything together quite nicely. Screwing it down with a gaskets is/was the most important thing, keeping the particles out of the baffle underneath the valve cover. I'll get you some better pics in the morning, using my phone now. Sorry.
