  1. New batch prices - March 2016 Here are the new prices for the next batch available from March 2016. January sale : for all orders processed before the end of February, I will apply the 2015 prices. Improvements are : 1) lambda sensor plugs in each 'Y' collecteur. 2) an even easier exhaust fitting and higher up towards the chassis. 3) a 2+2 extension to enable ALL the S30s to improve themselves. Any questions, either PM/email : seanz@wanadoo.fr
  2. The planned added lambda sensor plug begins to take form.
  3. I'm coming to the end of the current batch of exhausts and headers/collecteurs/manifolds. I'm in the process of planning the next batch which will have some improvements because standing still = going backwards ! After having frozen my prices since May this year with a now deflated Euro € which has lost me a % on each sale, there will be a price increase. The next batch should be available from the end of February and so I'd ask customers to be patient BUT I shall reward that patience : anyone ordering and paying before the end of this year will receive the new, improved parts at the current prices. Improvements include : Lambda plugs pre-installed for gas-flow and tuning measurements full-time or on the rolling-road Even better, snugger fitting of the headers and exhaust Some minor issues addressed An S30 2+2 extension pipe so as not to forget our 2+2s Don't forget, ordered and paid before end 2015 - delivery during March 2016.

  5. One of my 1 3/4 full-race headers with a Zstory exhaust (std rear muffler) on the ex-Paul Ricard circuit : https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=171&v=KSiGA_cBBS4 Thanks Samuel.
  6. Hi Mario. You need to contact Ryan at Zcardepot whom I believe has organised some great deals on shipping. Thanks Andreas....hoping for a mobile video some time
  7. Thanks. The basic differences are the Full-race and Race-sport have equal length primary pipes and the 3x become 1x further away from the engine.
  8. Street-sport header and exhaust fitted to a 2 seater 280Z.
  9. 2+2 prototype extension part made up ! In fact this is an exhaust I fitted on this 2+2 nearly 4x years ago - it has lasted well being a daily driver is less than dry-state conditions !
  10. Hi Wayne and thanks for the question, these headers will fit round-ported heads and for seriously prepped heads, there is plenty of metal that can be machined out. I did a (very) rough sketch for someone here with an N47 head. There are two square-port widths - the four outer and two inner and this 'scribble' :-) shows just how little machining is necessary to allow a free exhaust gas outflowing.....but generally it is the square-ported heads used for performance gains. http://datsunzgarage.com/heads/
  11. Hi Marcel and I apologise firstly because I'm getting no notifications of replies despite having selected 'yes' ! €174 shipped, insured and tracked to you - a lot more than EEC countries and in the same case as Norway - it cost less to send it to Finland !
  12. Sean Dézart, in and around Zs for 26 years now, current President of the French Datsun club (with nearly 1300 members - not all active of course), previous Dutch Z club member for 4 years and before that Chairman and events organiser of the UK Z club. Around 4 years ago I discovered that nobody was marketing reasonably priced s-steel exhausts so I set to it. Yes, there was a make and I was in contact with Judy at Stahl but they stopped and their header was already $900 before shipping and yes, there is Kameari and Fujitsubo but, a) their exhaust range is limited I feel and it all costs the donation of a small child ! I've sold modestly into Europe since and developpped and evolved the goods until now I feel confident to sell to a larger and more distant market. In the range currently are : 1 3/4" primary pipe Full-race header : $799 1 5/8" primary pipe Race-sport header : $661 1 5/8" primary pipe Street-sport header : $537 Full 2.5" exhaust line with standard rear muffler : $559 JDM twin-exit rear muffler : $160 I'm looking at less expensive methods of shipping, currently $380 (tracked and insured) for a header and exhaust (with standard rear muffler) and JDM rear muffler. I'll be very happy to answer any and all questions. Best regards, Sean
  13. Hi y'all. Curiosity question and not life changing : why are some (1974/5) 2+2 chassis rails shorter on the left (drivers') side compared to the RHside and why also only from (about) 1976 onwards ? I have only seen this on LHD 260Z 2+2s over here and don't know if this is the same for RHD 260Zs and all 2+2 280Zs.......can anyone confirm the differences and help date the changeover please ?
  14. Hi all, Formely Club Zen (Z enthusiasts), we currently have just over 1200 members which I think places us as the largest Z club in Europe. But we also cater for all Datsuns and Nissans (sedans, SWs, coupés etc) from 1964 'til 1989 - the run of Fairlady Roadsters 'til the end of the Z31s. A lot have imported their Zs, I have done a lot and obviously we have had to source parts and services for our cars : we have a lot of bi-lingual experience, documents, homologation papers and happy to share it on our active (free to join of course) forum : http://www.datsun-france.com/ and in a lot more detail against an annual membership fee of just €15. Anyway, no pressure, no offence to the great info here on this forum, just letting owners and potentiel owners outside of the US who come on here that there IS help available 'locally' :-) !
  15. Hi, Having successfully imported 6x containers' worth of Datsuns into Europe since 2004, gaining valuable experience and useful contacts, I would be interested in discussing further with you in private. My email address is : seanz@wanadoo.fr Regards, Sean
  16. And you're missing my point - I wouldn't report it (ie officially to a flic or ebay or whatever), I'd publicly state it here, on this forum that it seems incredible to see my old 4944 restored SO quickly and up for sale at such a price ! I don't snitch on others, I let their own conscience work - it either does or doesn't and aint my problem ! I vote for Obama, for someone to direct their gaze within the states, try to move things in the right direction and not continue or start another war against the next baddie and keep attention fixed elsewhere than at home. Point is guys, stop trying to police the world - you've enough sh*t to deal with back home - I've just watched a programme talking about the 2 million tyres lurking off Floridas' coastline, being cleared up by the US army at a rate of 65,000 per year and then driven to Georgia where they're recycled. And off New York, they threw in twenty or so train carraiges, again in the dream to stimulate coral and fish enclaves....... There is no petty crime - there is just crime ! Someone explain to me why early cars are sought after - please ! And do YOU drive around in a non-standard Z - legally a potential death-trap ? oh, and don't forget to have yourselves a nice weekend ; I will - my daughters' 1 year old tomorrow, it was my wedding anniversary yesterday and we're going gliding Sunday. Ooh and my 240's going to have a new (yes, brand new - never used) gearbox put in early next week. The sacrilege of it is that it isn't even a Z or ZX box ! Just to round off, do you agree to scrap 10 Z to save one or watch 11 quietly rot away ? Pride Performance Preservation Principles ? I repeat, R.I.P no. 4944...........................unless I win the lottery in which case she'd finish up like a mother-...ing ace of a Z ! Ta chaps !
  17. err, who's to stop anyone putting 1 + 1 = 3, buying the whole chassis, cutting out the relevant bits, dumping said complete chassis over here and posting back the relevant bits ready to turn $2000 into $10000 ! That pays for a return air ticket AND the fuel surcharge !Only I would know who had the souvenirs but then again, they could be sold on........but I'd know that it might re-surface again sooner or later. No, I wouldn't report it to the law, certainly not here -they wouldn't give a damn but I would start a thread on THIS forum if I saw someone trying to cash in. No, not jealousy ! and why I regret not offering the whole chassis YES, it is important - why do they sell for more ? Is there no-one over there who can or will explain this ? The explanation of the colour of the sky might change one's perception of it - arr, blue sky means sunshine or does it mean no rain ? Yes Alan, I'm silly but isn't this fun ? Wish someone would enlighten me as to why these, err, 'series 1' cars are worth so much more ! The phone did ring off earlier and I heard a strange 'click' so maybe I'm being watched - there was a 1950s' Chevy intercepted recently with +++kgs of pure coke in it's chassis rails so maybe they think I'm dealing 'cept this Zs' rails have so many holes it'd all fall out !
  18. Are you so sure that if I'd sold the VIN and later seen the car for sale that I wouldn't have reported it ? If it had been sold and nobody ever heard of it again - no-one would be the wiser - maybe it was adorning another chassis, maybe just hanging around on a wall as some sons' pressie to his dad (who for one reason or another can't drive) so he (the dad) may claim to 'own' 4944 and be part of this forum....... We're all hasty to judge but what would you be saying if the ad had read (included stripped chassis) ? You would never know if the buyer had taken delivery of everything or just the VIN ! Hell, if it left my place, I wouldn't know either - it could have been cut out before entering a container bound stateside....... The difference is that I advertised it seperately for which I regret as I didn't think of thievery stateside...sorry, it's not in my nature to think that way ! That said, YOU lot have encouraged the thieves by valuing such early cars so highly.....AND I STILL HAVEN'T SEEN ANYONE DEFEND THE HIGHER VALUE OF EARLY CARS ! Sorry, I'm hoarse now but explain to me why ? And for all those stone casters - how many among you have altered your cars in such a way to enhance performance (engine, brakes, suspension, tyres, strut bars).....? To increase the performance and encourage increased velocity and speed is surely contrary to your states laws and speeding kills (so they say) ! C'mon lighten up - you're all arguing about the format of the ad. - not even the content but for what was missing ! BTW, it's still here for sale.....
  19. Evidently, I have nothing to hide or this would never have been offered for sale in public. I am also the legal owner of the car and have all the papers to prove that. I should, however, have offered the chassis complete plus papers - the fact that I didn't was reported to Ebay who subsequently removed the listing - quite correctly in view of your federal laws (of which I am unaware - ie the publication of a registration document). I included the reg. doc. to prove that the papers were in my posession in an attempt to indicate that the souvenirs were from a legal source and not from a stolen car or whatever ! Question, whilst selling the chassis, numbers and papers, I suspected that it might be used later to defraud - should I have still sold ? If someone offers to buy your second Z (a project car) and you supect that it might end up 'shady' - do you sell ? The banks're closing in on you, recession is just around the corner, the presidential nominees can't agree on what to do (intervention or not), Dubbyas' adminsitration is almost nationalising one or more financial institutions and you're gonna refuse a legal sale of your property because you suspect that maybe your ex-property might be exploited illegally ? It's only us poor and middle class that can't afford to have principles but it's mostly just have that have 'em ! The sale of the souvenirs was never intended to be furtive - that's why I chose Ebay ! Now, the chassis (what's is left of it) is going to be exchanged for a 260Z 2+2. Why ? Because the prospective owner has 3x 240Zs and needs certain panels - the chassis is not being sold with the souvenirs to ensure that it doesn't resurface again under the number 4944. Which means that at the moment, the chassis number 4944 is still for sale (with chassis) but as soon as the chassis leaves my place - the sale is cancelled ! If someone had bought (will buy ?) the souvenirs and not wanted the chassis, then I would (will ?) have sold them..........but you have (almost) all stated that they're too expensive ! I quite honestly never expected anyone to buy them but to make sure, put them up at a price that I considered too much for a simple wall-hanger but not enough to put people right off ! It does open the question "why are 'series 1' cars coveted so ?" If this had been number 131,029 there wouldn't have been so much fuss because there wouldn't be an obvious financial gain by 'developing' a 'lost series 1' car. There was someone in the UK interested in the complete car in order to salvage parts for his own 1970 Z but my price of $1850 put him off ! Why did I advertise on Ebay.com and not another Ebay site ? 1) there are more worldwide Z customers who trawl 'your' site so it'll get more exposure (again, not really inkeeping with a secretive, shady deal) 2) it's only in your country where the 'series 1' cars have a percieived higher value - in any other country, no-one would give it a second look ! So, one might suggest that it's the US Z community who have made this sale attractive by encouraging the rise in value of 'series 1 'cars........? I repeat my question - why do they have a higher book value ? Obviously because they are more desirable but then why are they desirable - imo, they're not better cars; in Europe, cars of very good (but far from perfect) condition are worth far more than early cars, even if in some cases, the earlier car would not have to conform to emissions tests and be illeligible for road tax (ps in France we don't pay road tax !) In the UK (I don't know of any other countries where this happens but considering that on the continent, all the cars are like yours - LHD and therefore it's even easier to 'adopt' another identity, especially if the car coming from the States is in MUCH better condition than any potential donor car) there are only about 155 240Zs left, a few more perhaps loitering abandoned in peoples backyards and most of 'em need welding every year to get 'em through the MOT (technical check). Some people have imported clean cars from the States and switched IDs but they have obviously removed the HLS30....... and replaced it with their original HS30....... just as Alan was suggesting. There are obviously some adaptations required on the firewall to accomodate the steering coloum etc in a different place - some go even further and replace the entire firewall ! For better or for worse, this keeps more (and better condition and therefore safer) 240Zs in a country where to own one aint as easy or nearly as cheap as in the States. Obviously, if their donor car was dated after Dec. 1972 they won't qualify for zero road tax but they will have a perfect shell ! On the other hand, if they want a pre-'73 car then they can import one from you and keep it LHD - thereofre running on its' HLS30 number, signifying it to be pre blah, blah, blah ! Have I opened a can of worms ? Were you not aware that this was possible and indeed being don ? It's not new because since the early '80s, cars were being shipped over for GTO kit conversions and there have been and still are several commercial entreprises still importing them - al of which is quite legal and they're not concerned about end use - it aint their problem is it ? Do you worry about the drain of Zs to the old world ? When are you going to block the sale of every Z leaving the States ? How many 240Zs are left in the States now - any ideas ? In France, there are less than 100 out of 675 ish imported. In all of Europe, there can be no more than 400 - I wonder how many of those were first sold in the USA.......
  20. No probs. I'm sort of an 'agent provacateur' - I'm not expecting to get anything back from '4944' but the good news is (for me) that someone over here will exchange what's left for a complete 260Z 2+2. The deal excludes the chassis number as I don't want to see that chassis re-born - it's too far gone ! What some nefarious person could do is change their early-ish number for this one to be one of the first 5000 US imported cars.....but why ? Again, what is the reason their is attached reverence on these so called 'series 1' cars ? Alan may correct me - I beleive that '4944' isn't the 4944th Z to be built - it was probably 5500 or so (?) since this was an HLS and there are S30S AND HS30s. That being so, coveting 'early' cars is not logical (Captain) - it is specific only to the US - but hey, it's your war........sorry, police action. Been busy Carl ? It's been quiet.
  21. YOU can interpretate as YOU wish - YOUR perogative but if I'd simply put the wreck up on Ebay - what would you be saying ? "this French guy's dreaming - who's gonna pay that AND ship it back here - look at the state of it - it aint worth fixing" ? Anyhow - this aint Minority Report - nobody can charge me with someone else's potentiel future crime. R.I.P 4944 !
  22. http://cgi.ebay.com:80/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300238661817&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:MOTORS:1123 As we would say (translated) " little player" !
  23. Lazeum, there are innumerable differences between the S30s, even between supposedly the same model but in different markets but any lay person wouldn't really know the difference and certainly not any civil servant and/or cop...unless he or she were a well-informed Z fan as well and had it in for you ! Quite frankly, I don't care what a buyer might do with this number - it aint my problem any more than selling a correct car to someone and then wondering if they'll kill someone on the road........alcohol kills, so do cigarettes and let's not even get into the legal sales of guns.......... You know of the story over here where last year (I think) a bar owner was prosecuted because he sold a few drinks to asomeone who then had an accident intoxicated ? Self - responsibility is a diminishing occurrence - it's always someone elses fault and that means I can sue their a*s ! Well not me - I assume - if there was a Z museum, I dedicate the VIN to it but there aint so it's either there for someone or it hangs in my garage - I don't mind either way but admittedly, it's a shame that it can't legally be exploited. In fact, it can but it means someone buying the chassis too then replacing more than half of it - all legal but what's left of the original ? Reading earlier about race cars reminds me of a certain 240Z that used to race in the UK. I won't mention it's name 'cos Alan will moan and hold his head in his hands but it's not running on the original chassis number. Back to you guys......
