  1. The S30 parts constantly evolved over the years and not at set periods - Nissan introduced changes (sometimes improvements) asap in mid-year/production model runs. This also applies to the cast-iron exhaust manifolds and so far for the 240Z alone, I've noted the following cast numbers (visible under the ports 5 + 6 : U87 N42 N47 N33 E30 - this I know is the European version. Generally, I believe, the different parts denote different methods by which Nissan passed their cars through certain anti-pollution controls (?) however all appear to be of the same dimensions......except the 1973 (last) version before the introduction of the 260Z.. This manifold is longer towards the flange which is itself at a slightly different angle. This means that the 1973 downpipes were shorter than the previous AND post versions and I'm trying to foind one please. In the absence of the real part, I'd would like to at least know the casting code, please, on the 1973 OEM exhaust manifold ? Can you list here any other manifold casting numbers with their car model and year please ? Many thanks in advance.
  2. Ok thanks but would you know the casting number on the OEM exhaust manifold please ?

Yes, he did and on the same day you apologised - thankyou. The beauty of forums such as this compared to the social media is that information remains visible, unswamped by daily 'chaff' to refer to by new members. But that is a double-edged sword and without having the courtesy and rerspect to edit or delete your unfounded comments, they remain there in perpetuity and rare is it that anyone will scroll further down once having seen your post ! "If you haven't got money in deal I'd seriously think about MSA ceramic coated headers. I've got 6to1s on both my cars and very pleased after 10 years of running them with MSAs 2.5" aluminum, I think, to the back bumper. They have other configurations but I like the sound and backpressure of the the 6to1. It's loud but only if you chose. Stay out of it until you get away from neighbors and then who gives a flip. If the guy won't talk to you, it's not going to have a wonderful ending no matter what you pay him. Get out while you can." You suggested the cheapest mild-steel headers available on the market and have you really inspected the welding quality and the flange in particular ? A 6-1 header is not even conceived for the street but track and drag runs in order to dump as much exhaust gas as quickly as posisble.....even then Nissans' own race headers were always 2-1 and their S20 exhaust line a full twin-pipe system to the rear to improve torque for the 'little' 2.0ltr. And MSA's exhaust line in not made of aluminum lol but the same mild steel and heaven knows why they haven't proposed a resonator (not just for the noise and it IS loud) but for the engines' performance (google exhaust scavenging). You 'like' the backpressure ! Your exhaust system is totally de-restricted meaning you have an absolute minimum of restrictions to the exhaust gases with a paradoxal low exhaust-gas velocity, especially during street driving. This is losing you power, most likely between 10 and 20% - call it 15. On a stock L24 making 130 hp DIN max, adding your exhaust is in fact reducing your net power down to perhaps 110hp....it sound loud, it sounds fast but stick it on a dyno and weep ! You'd be much better off fitting MSAs 6-2 (Pacesetter), same exhaust line but having your exhaust shop fit a resonator just behind the transmission....costs a bit more but the benefits are real. That's where MSAs' technology stops and I was fitting them and also the twice-pipes kit back in the early '90s because it was all I could find...back in the day of catalogues and sending faxs to order ! :-) I chose to produce more expensive, I'll admit, but still more affordable than the parts available in Japan and still the only single stainless-steel pipe system that doesn't have an over-sized diameter (3" for a n/a engine - get outa here ! ) which are efficient for road and track use for different size engines and also with different characteristics (compression ratios, camshafts etc.....) and also different driving styles 'cos I don't believe one size fits all. https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/car-technology/a14530205/what-is-exhaust-backpressure-and-why-is-it-bad-for-horsepower/ I'm not sure that you're best placed to advise anyone on exhaust choice. You told texasz to get out while you can cos it's not going to end well whatever he pays ! Perhaps you should ask him how it ended...........

Hi - I read this : "Whatever you're writing in your messages must be something he's avoiding." 1) assumption without proof that I'm avoiding him 2) Insinuation that there is a sinister reason I'm avoiding him "must be'' Any reason he would be avoiding you? 3) Insinuation that there is a sinister reason I'm avoiding him reinforced Not a good look for him if there's no good reason. 4) Negative prediction and quite frankly pointless statement - I don't ignore anybody, who would ? Help, where ? Tagging me here wouldn't if I was avoiding him here.....which I wasn't ! Why DM a guy who doesn't respond to a customer's messages? I implied DM the enquirer, in this case texasz, with your opinions w/out facts rather than imply publicly what you did - that's not helping my business nor the potentiel customers' confidence - please think. Have a great day now - it's past ! :-)

  11. If one seperates the headers from the 'X' what do you call the 'X' to differentiate ir from the entire system of headers and 'X' ? A 'set', a 'system', 'pipework' ? For Alan, this is what is listed on RHDJapans (Jason quoted their price listing as a reference) : https://www.rhdjapan.com/fujitsubo-exh-performance-unit-epu-legalis-total-exhaust-system-fairlady-z-s30-gs30-hs30-2-seater.html Compatibility is from maker for JDM cars only. We don't guarantee fitment. Always do your own research before purchase. Nissan Fairlady Z GS30 L20 (10/1971-08/1975) Nissan Fairlady Z HS30 L24 (10/1971-01/1974) Nissan Fairlady Z S30 L20 (10/1971-08/1975) I see no mention of the later S31 models ! I don't see the inverted first flange either but that's probably RHDJpn being lazy and using a previous, library photo
  12. Again, no-one has translated the write-ups so unless the questions are asked, only you would know and this is the first time you've mentioned the S31s despite plenty of conjectures over R180 vs R200 fitting. I'm not putting words into anyones' mouths - people here are independant indivuduals with their own, autonomous thoughts....to even suggest otherwise is an insult to 'them', like they're some kind of lost flock and I'm the Pied Piper - it's comic.
  13. I'm not looking for any credibility here - just asking a couple of questions, which nobody, least of all you, have answered - so why did they invert their flange - I see no ground-clearance advantage from the photos and I don't read Japanese ! Oh gosh, in my haste to reply, did I mispell whilst using an Azerty keyboard, I prostrate myself for my sin. A little 'petite' and not at all classy on your part Alan....'scraping the barrel' rather.
  14. A line is......: an exhaust line.....that which follows from the exhaust manifolds/headers, collector/extractor. Dyno-developed on what size engine and state of tune ? The stock L20 for which their system is quoted (joke)...c'mon, dyno-developed is sooo vague, you don't blindly accept that on good faith do you ?
  15. MHO : 1) there is no difference in ground clearance by inversing the initail flange fitting (between header and line). However, it does subtely oblige people to buy their exhaust line with the headers. 2) the twin exhaust lines leading from the reasonators look too low to be benefitting from the front diff support bar/crossmember inverted 'U' cut-outs. 3) And very tongue in cheek - when wishing to sell to Zs with R200s (eg 280Zs ?à, would it be a good idea to lengthen the outlet pipes (or at least offer sais as an export option with lowered exit pipes for the muffler to sit higher) to pass beyond the Federal safety rear bumper ? ps why don't Fujitsubo offer their headers in at least two primary-pipe diameter sizes ?
  16. Hi - I've never said that I make them physically ! I produce them, I've conceived them and I sell them but the quantities demanded are way above those that I can make and the raw materials' prices here in France are too crazy ! I apologise if what I said gave you the wrong impression however, all are hand-made.
  17. Can you read ? Matthew quoted $3k, not me. Apparently the Spirit Garage system isn't as good a quality as the Fujitsubo....NOT a fact, merely one mans' opinion.
  18. I was agreeing that it was good and thanking/praising you for it. You and Alan consistently appear to look for attacks where there are none ! It's not in my head, plentu of people have PM-ed me on the subject - it's real and only now you don't have the bottle and stand up and behind your acid comments - fair enough however I always assume what I say and write. Same as what budget ? Matthew is quoting $3000 ! It's so compelling that Matthew is going to buy a Spirit Garage system - go figure. :-)
  19. Supplier or manufacturer ? I maintain that the 'update' has still left buyers wondering, Matthews' posts are testament to that and it was only your perserverence over more than a fortnight with a local supplier insistting with the manufacturer that you've selfishly supplied the clear information needed. I don't understand why, on two seperate forums you want me to keep mum on any exhaust thread, which is my speciality (whatever happened to freedom of speech ?) and you consistently attack me everywhere on the net. Upon the subject of wheels also, there are three of you who've been keen to censure my threads leading to two forums banning any mention of them despite their members' buying them. It's either personal against me and/or my products Jason and I still don't get the exalted level of animosity you have towards someone you've never met and down you no harm. For Alans' sake, I'll repeat again - I have nothing against Japanese parts for our cars - I do, howver question that ONLY Japanese parts are best for our cars which obviously sidelines and could even be taken as snidy (sic) comments upon all those parts procuded and marketed outside of Japan - most examples of which are Made in the USA ! Should we believe you that they are sub-standard to JDM parts and that engine and body-shops here are also ? Owners buy parts using many criteria and I don't believe that national sites of production count - quality and price do......and we all have different budgets.
  20. Fair enough, I wasn't clear in that I meant since Matthews' 'rebirthing' of the subject in his post no. 426. It has however taken 19 pages, 5yrs and questions posed via a supplier in a different country, on another continent to clear up the specs sufficient for a potential buyer to make a rational choice. Alan, you say yourself that suppliers aren't asking the right questions of Fujitsubo and we've seen poor and even misleading information presented by these retailers outside of Japan. I've only ever said that if they were my exhausts being resold, I would insist the retailers get it right. Your 'scratched-record' reply has always been that Fujitsubo don't care about export sales, are not reponsable for sales blurb in English and that buyers should contact the manufacturing company in their local language - ie Japanese. And you call me ridiculous.... Total unfounded garbage to suggest that I have contributed to misconceptions and that I've sniped at Fujitsubos' products. I have consistently stated that is not the case, they are high-quality parts.....you, however, decipher (because it suits your soapbox) my questions/observations as sniping ! Questions such as they're listed for L20s only, that, originally, they weren't made to fit around R200 diffs, there were ground-clearance issues, at some point the lines were not stainless-steel, were they compatible with LHD cars, are they road legal with their elevated db levels, do they only come with one diameter size primary pipes and so on..... Most of the above points have been addressed by Fujitsubo and I believe that is to reassure the export market buyers.....which reverses your opinion that they only care for their JDM. Instead of answering those points and rather perpetually accusing me of 'sniping', you (the royal you) have left buyers wondering......and that lack of concise information isn't your fault or even the manufacturer - it's mine and the retailers asking the wrong questions - IF they bother to ask at all. Get a grip on reality, stop pointing the finger and keep to the facts - not YOUR personal opinions, please. :-)
  21. Ah, but Alan restarted that with his petty inferences AND this isn't his nor your thread - right ?
  22. Untrue Alan ! There was no disinformation, wilful or otherwise and certainly no criticism at all from me. I quoted the sales information factually. No 'dog in the fight' either ; I didn't even speak of my systems as Matthew wants a dual-line system and I don't produce one (yet). Please stop your personal (at me) sniping and disinformation on what you believe are my thoughts despite my assurances to the contrary ! "the information" published here in this thread with miunderstandings and misconceptions is that gained from retailers. It's a shame that such high-quality goods are not backed up by informed sellers. ps I hadn't realised that I'd been elevated to the status of 'rival supplier' - thanks for that. :-)
  23. So let's agree NOT to post on each others' threads (and that includes Alan too) - OK ? Pax Britannica. 😊 I didn't understand until now the level of animosity you have towards me - someone you've never met and don't know.
  24. Drink your own medicine ; you and the Count follow me around everywhere ! However, in a free world, anyone can post when and where he (or she) likes - no ?
  25. Then sir, you lack any imagination. :-)
