  4. I have a number of loose wires in the dash. Heater fan doesn't work. Headlights don't work. Wiper motor works intermittently, mainly on high. I fixed the brake lights today... Alternator isn't working. I tried a different regulator today. It didn't appear to help. We had some smoke out of the dash today and my help said the Ammeter was way over to the right...
  5. We started the car today!! Didn't require Ether and it's being fed off a temp fuel source but it runs!! Lots of electrical issues still. I figured out where the 2 of the 4 wires at the coil go. I have 2 left. I'm not sure what to do with them. I believe the Green one feeds the Tach which is currently INOP. I could use help with that so I don't damage anything
  6. Yeah, I have that part wired. It's the factory harness wires to the coil I am unsure of
  7. Got the hood on today The paint chips incredibly easy. Way too easy it seems. It will probably have to be reworked at some point. We'll see I reworked the black wire on this voltage regulator My middle daughter was here with her boyfriend and they're good shop help! We got all the cooling system hooked up. Fuel lines on the carbs. They bled all the brakes and we primed the fuel pump. Once I get the 280zx matchbox hooked up, it might start. I have lots of electrical problems.. Can someone give me a short course on how these should go to the coil for a 280zx matchbox setup??
  8. Are they for front or rear bumpers? I was thinking they were for front bumpers but the Carpartmanual link shows the rear bumper. I thought the only thing I needed for the rear bumper were the little rubber sleeves to keep it off the paint??

  13. Rich, So I have a question. SavOn plating basically charges a barrel charge for each lot. So that means you really want ALL the hardware to go to the plater at one time. Carb parts, nuts, bolts, screws from the fuel pump, horns, etc. Is that what you do or is there another method?

  18. I am installing their interior kit instead of vinyl and if I recover the seats I will use their kit. I'm not too concerned about wearing through the color. Pretty much all of my cars have leather and I've never worn a seat out. And I love the smell of real leather!
  19. It is my understanding that the bar #1 that is connected to the bottom of the jet need to be bent to make the needles not stick. Although I am not totally certain which way to bend it to prevent binding when the choke is applied

  21. This engine is a temporary thing. If I have time I will build an engine before Zconn 2025. If not this just needs to run well enough to get me there. There will be a long punch list after the car is running. The engine being one and the missing paint in the engine bay being the other one
  22. So I worked on the car some more today. I made progress but it was still frustrating! I worked on the exhaust a little more. Added this mounting strap on the tire side of the muffler. I need to add a hanger strap near the differential but I will have to fab a bracket to do that. Worked on mounting fenders and adding bumpers to the fenders Installed the hood hinges Put in the headlights Then realized that you can't put the sugar scoops on with the headlights in place! 😞 The studs are blocked by the headlight frame I put the windshield cowl on four or five times. Had to adjust fenders multiple times and every time I took it on or off I chipped the paint somewhere new. Really irritating!! I have to take it off again, maybe tomorrow to adjust the passenger side fender. The inspection cover won't fit in the gap I have currently on the passenger side. I also can't find the hardware for the inspection lids. I know I have it and it's been plated but I can't find it. Really irritating. Luckily, I'm a packrat and had some other lids with the hardware but it will have to be plated. 2 forward , 1 back

    We bought an uncoated header for the 510 from Troy Ermish a while back. We added two O2 bungs so we can check the carbs separately and added a Vband fitting at the exhaust end. I sent it off to JetHot over Christmas and got it back this last week. It looks nice!
