It's fixed. Back to normal programming...
  2. Auction ends in about two hours. Up to $33,333 at the moment. Almost to the $35,000 it didn't sell at before.
  3. Forgot to say - are you sure it's really Mike? The chatbots stop responding also. Maybe it's too late. We miss you Mike. 😪
  4. I don't mind the chatbots, I think that it's interesting to interact and see what happens. It would be nice though to have some acknowledgement that they're here. I see them on Youtube comments and people do get fooled. Overall though, I do worry about chatbots scamming people. We're probably on the edge of a big wave of chatbot scams. They already have the AI voices that sound like relatives from a few years ago. Somebody is going to ask an AI model "what's the best way to scam a Z car owner out of their money?" and they're going to get specific instructions.
  5. I don't think that it takes much to lock up a 12 volt DC motor. There were probably a few rust spots sticking that got polished away once you got it spinning. If it was mine I would just use it until there are problems. If it's not making noise and it's pumping how would a new one be better? They're not really precision instruments, they just push as much fuel as they can according to how much voltage they see. The regulator controls the pressure. Should be fine, I'd guess.

Posted this on Website Questions. Can't find web site support. "We've been joking about Mike and chatbots but there really are some odd things going on. A few days ago the "not secure" page was coming up before signing in. Now the tag at the top just says not secure. Has a chatbot really taken over the site? This post must be approved by a moderator. Let's see. I'll post it on open chit chat too just for fun."

  9. "As profound as the abundance produced by AI may one day be, an even more meaningful impact on our lives will likely come from everyone having a personal superintelligence that helps you achieve your goals, create what you want to see in the world, experience any adventure, be a better friend to those you care about, and grow to become the person you aspire to be." https://www.meta.com/superintelligence/?srsltid=AfmBOopSi7nekJMPHVTg-DdFWo-IiwGRDkvLClsBgOnqpYmc0GawGYY3
  10. That's the scary part. If they put AI chatbot computer/brains in mechanical robots there will probably be a trail of human body parts left behind as they interact with people. They seem to get very angry when challenged.
  11. Probably bad bushings. Think I already said this before.
  12. Too easy. Still a ton of work to do. Good luck.
  13. In other words, real people are controlling the chatbots. Things will probably get weird when they figure out to set the chatbots free to "converse" at will on these forums, without a handler. Or, conspiracy theory, Mike is using the forum to train chatbots, or is renting the forum out to a chatbot developer. You never know. I've seen many job advertisements for positions to train chatbots. Hard to really understand what the long-term goal is.
  14. They are proliferating like cancer out there. Metastasizing. WhatIs27 of the best large language models in 2025Large language models are driving AI hype in 2025. Learn which ones to follow.
  15. I don't think that these are "bots". I think that they are real people using one of the large language model programs, like ChatGPT. Testing them out to see if they can sound like real people. I don't think that a bot would edit its post. Training tip - "cracks from the inside" and polishing away a film around the edges is nonsense. And it listed a 240Z as its car but talks about a 260Z. That's clever attempt but it's a sign of not quite right. As far as deleting them, it might be best to keep our enemies close. We need to see how these manipulative tools develop. Be ready.
  16. The bots are watching. Don't mess with the bots. 😬
  17. Here's a pretty nice modified early 240Z. Always interesting to see how modified cars do against the restored cars. Sometimes the modifieds get surprising money. I don't know how a person can post on something like BaT though without actually looking at past listings to see what bidders want to see. No driving video. Maybe the tires rub. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1971-datsun-240z-341/
  18. Naah. It's just about honest disclosure. That's all. As usual, you've twisted something simple in to a mass of convoluted irrationality. To what end, who knows. Again, sorry DC. I imagine that you can see how these things start. It's not a pissing battle. It's just one guy who feels like he can wizz wherever he wants to.
  19. A buyer mght assume that it came "out of the factory" in red. If "out of the factory" is meaningless then your point is valid. Changing the sticker removes a significant piece of provenance. If provenance is unimportant then your point is valid. Why not leave the green color code sticker? If provenance is unimportant then changing anything on the car is "okay". Replica body panels, paint, engine (just grind and re"stamp" the numbers on the engine or have alternate ID plates created), etc. Originality doesn't matter. Just have alternates created of all of the things that collectors usually inspect for originality. Create an alternative reality Z car. Sorry D.C.
  20. It's former greenness is "clear" now. Seller posted a before picture.

Stumbled across an interesting video about zinc. The answer is at about 11:00.
  22. Didn't mean to contradict you directly. There might have been something in the fuel that was left behind as a solid. Crystalline and solid are two separate things in the materials world. A solid can be crystalline but it doesn't have to be. Who knows, it might have been residual fuel stabilizer, left behind when the gasoline evaporated. Most of them are a witch's brew of chemicals designed to save the metals and the fuel. I took some chemistry courses! 🤢 https://www.lucasoil.com/pdf/SDS_Lucas-Fuel-Stabilizer.pdf https://defender.com/assets/pdf/sta-bil/safety_data_sheet_302110.pdf
  23. Hey! If you remove the screws that indicator light can be removed. Unless the PO glued it on. I get nervous just looking at that picture.
