Need Help With Springs
This subject has been covered a few time before and each persons answers are completely subjective to their individual taste. Here's my take on it... From what I can tell the MSA springs are just a stiffer spring rate than stock, meaning that Yes the car will handle better but also that every aspect of the ride will be firmer. On the other hand the Eibach's are a progressive rate spring, meaning that they start out "soft" to absorb imperfections in the road but the more the springs compress the more stiff they become allowing for slot car like handeling through the twisties... okay so I may have embellished it a bit. I have the Eibach/Tokico HP combo and I love them! I would, and do recommend this setup. If the Z was going to see a lot of track time then maybe I would choose differently, but I use mine as a commuter every chance I get. I am still amazed everytime I toss the Z into a sharp turn or twisty on/off ramp. I'm still running "stock" size tires and the suspension takes everything I've thrown at it... the tires get a little angry sometimes but they still hang on. :paranoid: I'm holding out for 16x7 Panasports. I also recommend that while you are in there to go ahead and replace all the bushings with polyurethane or at least new rubber ones. I also had to by new bump stops (blue 'cones' in the picture) for the upper spring seat as my old ones had turned to dust. The wheel size that you want to go with will work fine with this setup. I included a picture of all pieces and parts from last winters project and a link to a thread where some of this was covered once before. Greetings From Katy, Texas
Welcome, Tex! Arne took the words right outta my mouth... so I won't repeat it. Other than that you may also want to look into joining a local Z club. There are some pretty active ones in Texas from what I've seen. Sometimes a little one-on-one with other Z owners can make up for the boundaries inherent to the internet. Good luck and Enjoy the Ride! Nate

I'm A New-Bee
Hey Chris! And Welcome to our site. There is plenty of information here so don't be afraid to use the search function, and if that still leaves you thirsting for more just post what you're looking for and people will come out of the woodwork to help. As far as clubs in NM, the club finder at ZCCA.org comes up with nothing, as you may already have found out. One of our member's, Ed, has spent some time in NM and may be able to point you in the right direction. Have fun, Good luck, Welcome and Enjoy the Ride! Nate

Ireland Z
Welcome to the club! My wife and I visted Ireland back in June and we had a wonderful time in your great country and city of Dublin for that matter. You'll find that there is a wealth of knowledge on this site and there are plenty of folks here to walk you through anything! So again, welcome! Cheers! -Nate

What's your ride height?
Ed, Here's what I've got, but I'm not sure that I'm on the same page as you for the rear jack point. Also, It strikes me that tire size (or height) could be a variable too. I have the Eibach Progressive Rate (charcoal grey in color) springs w/ Tokico HP's. Tire size is 185/70R14 with an over all height of 24". Front= 5 1/4" Rear= 6" ? Nate

Welcome Marc... good find especially in AK !!??!?!?!? It's good to see another active duty (even if it is just for a few more months) from the Carolinas. I'm from Charleston, just kinda displaced in NY right now. Nate

Are these Panasports?
I'm leaning towards - no. Here is a pic of a 15" Panasport. Notice where it actually says Panasport Racing right on the rim. I would say they are a clone... I know American Racing is making a similiar wheel, the Silverstone I think. But even then I would think that they would have their name cast in the wheel also.

My name is Brian and I am a Zzzholic
Welcome Brian... I remember this Z too. Love the color... not as much as 918 Orange though She does have a bit of a monster truck stance but I'm sure that will change when the drivetrain gets installed. Good Luck! Nate

The competition at Ontario Z-Fest '06 - 2
Quite the turn out for the Ontario Z-Fest '06 held at Cristie Lake Conservation Area in Dundas, Ontario, Canada... just outside of Toronto. The amount of Z's and others that showed up was impressive considering the threat of rain.

What is the most valuable thing about this Club
I went with the food for thought bit... But quite honestly I think all the responses show the real answer... It's not overly specific but dead on... Our People! This is by far the most helpful and most prompt group on the web. I've had a few times where I was in the middle of a task and needed a question answered and every time I had a positive response within 10 to 20 minutes, or less! Thanks to all of you for being you. Car Accident Last Night
Damn Ian. That's pretty f'd up. I gotta tell you, I've been in similar situation (w/o the Firetruck though) and I have to admit I always cringe when it's my "turn" to go, 'cause you never know who's not paying attention or just doesn't care and thinks that everyone else is being stupid and that they're the only one who knows what to do. At least everyone's okay.

Looks Like an Early Z to me - on eBay - your Opinion?
I'd be interested to know the rough VIN of the first '72 model HLS30. Mine is 47945 with a build date of 9/71. I can't imagine there were too many before that and I have most if not all of the "typical" series II stuff. I'm interested in the VIN of this one... but that's about all the interest I can scrounge up for the reasons Will already posted and the "look" that John mentioned. Nate

Who can guess what this is?
 Well I'll be darned...

Who can guess what this is?
Jim, Nifty little car, it definetly looks better, but I don't think that's the same one either... http://archives.seattletimes.nwsource.com/cgi-bin/texis.cgi/web/vortex/display?slug=tesla04&date=20060804&query=electric+car Bill's first post stated it's not American or Japanese, and the Tesla Roadster is American (Silicon Valley, Ca). I'm sticking to my guns though, I think it's the Russian one... Russian Auto Design (R.A.D.) "Sky". Nate
