Well, one cool solution I recently tried was to replace it with exact reproduction NISMO/DATSUN COMPETITION rear view mirror that was only available to factory racing Z432 and Slyline GTR (Hakosuka)cars. This one uses your old mirror stem and looks very very cool. This one is not a cheap plastic contruction like original one. I introduced it in my thred last year........ http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39147&highlight=nismo+rear+view+mirror

You don't have originaly key with key code on it? If you do, you can have the lock smith match all of the cylinders.
  3. Thank you for your reply. According to your info, I browsed out and found this wesite. http://www.precisiongear.com/powerbrute.htm These are 3 types of LOM 55... LOM 55 E LOM 55 L LOM 55 12 (8 bolts ring gear)
  4. OK, here is a LSD I cannot identify. It looks like NISMO one.... Does anyone have clue?
  5. On L engine, it is Ok to run it with mini air filter at both end. (you might see few drips of oil coming out depending on your blow by volume. :classic:
  6. Rerpoduction braided hoses are made by the same Nissan OEM company. Except for much improved quality of the material and technology they use, they are just like the original ones. Currently we are working on master brake vacuum hose set (series 1 and series 2), and hoses around intsake manifold including air pump hoses.(those ones never existed on Japanese spec car, by the parts were made in Japan) :classic:
  7. Different hoses according to the factory (Nissan's OEM hose company in Japan) Brake master hoses are made of same typr of rubber as vapor hoses by the way.
  8. After reading everyone's comments, I have made my decision here. I just talked to a manufacture in Japan, and I will go ahead and see what will be the cost to make reproduction ones. Let's say 20 sets per year volume?? right? If so, which type should I create? Later one? What I might do in 2 different versions. 1. Later type lense and hole pattern with later lense with Chrome finish. 2. Later type lense without holes or chrome finish(bare metal so you can re-shape to fit your car better and drille holes at any places you want before chroming them yourself.(This version will be chaper, of course) What do you all think?

That is the kit that Classic Datsun makes, right? I bought some from Classic Datsun (www.classicdatsun.com), and comes in different colors. Very high quality.

I got a set with that special plyer and I am very very happy with the products!!!!!!!
  11. Any luck finding the spoilers?
  12. Ok...Well do they have different parts# between old ones and new ones? If so, early production ones are better made than later ones.......
  13. There is only one kind of reproduction JDM type headlight covers. His is from Japan as well. And I know who has the mold and sells them. It is about 24000Yen Plus shipping. So about $300 at cost if you bring few. These are made in China and lenses are OK but the rings are unbelievable shape (mot even streight) and very poor chome quality. I wish this was the later type lenses....

That is great!!!!!!!!!! Wow! Thank you Mike!
  15. Well, I did not know anthing about different types of headlight cover until my master Katz made a detailed coment last year http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31601 By the way, the reproduction ones have gray rubber gasket all the way around while Genuine ones have glued black rubber that is almost impossible to remove.
  16. Last year we had a thred about this http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14343&highlight=headlight+cover&page=5 As far as mounting hardware, here is what I made at the lowest cost . All you need is tap and screws!
  17. Also the shape of 1969-72 fiber glass headlight buckets and post73 later metal ones are different...... I have NOS/original ones on my personal car, and I ended up enlarging and openning the 2 of the 4 holes to give the lenses more room to expand as you tightening the screws over the rings.
  18. Yes sure! I just had a plan meeting with a factory, and I should have follwing in few months. 1. Master Vacuum <-> Check valve (It will come in 1973 model length (73 one is 1" longer than pre 73) 2. Check valve <-> Series 1 intake 3. Check valve <-> Series 2 intake Braided finish will match the rest of our braided hose series.
  19. Well, how about the rings..... I do not mind investing money to make them, but it will be hard to make the rings the match the lenses. Original ones do not even aligned to the lense so that these lenses often crack as you install them......
  20. Has anyone here bought a set of these reproduction covers linked by TQs30z? Just wondering how they fit. They wouldn't do me any good though. I need a set of replacement lenses for the later OEM type to go with my trim rings that I had rechromed already. Just thought I would also mention that I did take a crack at reproducing the trim rings and also looked into having replacement lenses made using a vacuum forming process by a local company. The cost to have the prototype forms made was more than I was willing to invest and the rings proved to be quite difficult to form as well. It is beyond my capabilities. As I mentioned before, the reproduction ones are very poorly made, and even MSA decided not to sell them. Poor chrome ring lines and chrome that it almost look like plastic rings. Also the repro ones were made based on early ones, so you cannot use just the lenses for later ones. The shape and hole locations are different. It cost about 25000 yen in Japan, which is about 300 USD plus shipping. I wish someone could make one out of stainless steel.....Hasn't some member been working on it last year? What happened to that project?
  21. This newest set up is the most advanced and reliable of all the previous version made in Japan. Electrically controlled steering weight associated with speed sensor and relays. It comes with wire harness, relay, speed sensor, and shaft assembly. It bolts right up with power source of your battery. $1,875-free shipping for US main island/$150 for international shipping. *You need to sign product liability waiver. *Usable core exchanged. Core charge is $150.
  22. I bought 1 set to see if we could make less expensive version out of it. My supplier has tried over 30 different kinds of electric power steering set up, and this is the most recent version of all.
  23. I believe the seller is Datsun Spirit guy in VA, but his website is out of service.......http://www.datsunspirit.com/index.html I throught he was a trust worthy Japanese :cry:guy.........

Before anything else, take it aparts, and clean up rusty components inside. High speed grease for your hubs might help. Also please make sure that your mast is stright. As far as mast itself, I would use silicone type grease. You simply apply it with a paper towel so that it does not get all oily.
  25. New ones I just received from Japan has special program and reply that works with speedo sensor. This is much more advanced set up, I think. I have one in stock at $1.850 shipping included for US main island( Very expensive!!!! **Core must be turned in)
