Parts Interchangability
If you want to understand terms get a labeled diagram of a stage coach. You find out where dash board came from, boot, etc. Now I have one for the group. Does anyone know where the term "pinning the ears back" used to describe going fast in your car came from? Or how about "Balls out" for going fast? Note this is a test and you will be graded

Advise on air tools/compressor??
I have recently done some research on air tools and water knockout setups. From what I have gathered so far is that the discount air tools are ok for home use if you keep them oiled and clean. The basic difference in discount to pro is that the pro versions have tighter tolerances which result in higher efficiency due to less air loss. Regarding the water nock out, I add an air tool out fit recommend that I run the setup shown in the diagram around my garage door. It can be made out of copper or steel pipe. I was planning to have increase in diameter at the compressor side so that the pressure drop would help drop out the moisture. Also if you make this out of copper never leave your compressor on 24hrs because if there is a fire the joints would open and you would have a blow torch!

Parts Interchangability
the 510s and 240s share the same window cranks all the 620 Pick-ups and 240Z share the same glovebox door latch. But the 620 latch is not lockable.

Off topic but looks thrilling
I know that most of us love our Zs but I doubt if our Zs give us as much enjoyment as this new Sport Utility Bike has given this rider! (at least I hope not!)

Cleaning parts
I use TSP as a parts cleaner. I got the idea when I was in the environmental clean up business and I noticed that a solution of TSP and water would dissolve asphalt. You can get it at any hardware store. Please be carefull and follow the cautions on the label because it will remove the oil from your skin. AND it is not nice to paint!

"New" Bridgestone Turanza P205/65R16 tires for sale
Ok I know that these are not 240Z tires but I figured that some of you may have a Nissan Altima that could use these tires and rims. They are Bridgestone Turanza EL 42 P205/65R16 take offs from a 2002 Altima my son got his hands on and he asked me to see if I could sell them for him. Currently then are mounted and balanced on factory steel rims. But if you only want the tires I will remove the rims at no extra cost and ship only the tires. I do not know how many miles are on these tires but the edges still have the little mold "hairs" present. I ship via FedEx Ground you can calulate the shipping rate at FEDEX Use the following info to calulate: - The tires and rims together weigh 47lbs each - Tires alone(according to the Bridgestone web site weigh 25 lbs) - Shipping size is 9X27X27 - Add $5 to each tire for shipping with out a box. I would like only $100 all four. Close up of Image 1 Close up of Image 2 Also I am in the Sacramento California area

saw the 350z
When stopping by the local Nissan dealership today I saw 6 350's on the lot and so I thought what the hell I would like to get a used one in 4 years when the price is 1/2, I might as well get educated about the car, when I quickly was reminded why car salesmen do more harm than good . . . .when ask me why I was looking and I told him that I had a 240 that I was restoring. He then asked me if I liked the color:stupid: . Then said “oh a 240 I think my son had one . . . was that the old Z?†:dead: It never ceases to amaze me that people selling the cars are clueless. Which I guess means that most of the people buying the cars are clueless. Anyway I will gather my data, learn what I want to get then in 4 years when some little rich kid wants a new toy I will find a used one for ~$15,000 with 70K miles and then I will have my toy. Sorry you 350 haters but I think the interior is great and that what I will see most of when I am driving it.

First on road encounter with 350Z
I do not care who it is but when I am doing above the speed limit and going around a slower car and some A-hole comes up and flashes their lights . . . I slow down to the speed limit. The driver is just dam rude and does not deserve any more gas going through my carb. Now if I see a faster car coming up and am passing I will typically speed up (If I can) to get out of their way before they get to me. What really gets me about these type "A"s is that typically there are cars in front of me so they gain a whole 50 feet :stupid: . Give me a curvy road by myself and will have some fun, but the moment that I come up on a slower car (doing the speed limit) I have to sink back in to reality and wait for my moment to drop a gear and go for it. Oh discovered another thing that works! I once overfilled the oil in my 620 PU and found that if I did a small wiggle it would start belching blue smoke . . . lots of it. Boy would a tailgater back off quick.

Lookin for Z in CA
You should be able to get most of your questions answered here but first you should do a search on the site, because you are not the first with this question. The quick advice is watch out for rust. Owen K

Not Armourall ???????
Ok I have a big secret to let out about Armor All to all you Dads with boys in Cub Scouts. If you have a son in Cub Scouts you may have heard of the Pinewood derby. Well it turns out that if you soak the wheels in Armor All night before the race. Then let them air "dry" for ~2 hrs before the race your son's car will take first place unless someone else knows the trick! My two boys took 1st and 2nd every year then when my sons moved out of scouts I let the secret out to a good friend. His sons take 1st & 2nd! What is amazing is that it is not by inches but feet! So now the world knows!!!

Not Armourall ???????
Sorry to disappoint you all but dashes have be cracking long before Armor All came on the seen. I do not know if long turn use of Armor All is good or bad but I do know that before Armor All the dash on my 66 Dodge looked like crap. (this was in 73) We all need to start searching the internet for believable testing results on Armor All and other products. Owen K

I have found 260Z or 280Zs in wrecking yards a liner just as you decribe and it looks stock maybe some dealers added them after they we off the boat. Next time I am there I will take one off and see if it fits on a 240.
